Yesterday boyf and I hit up the National Cherry Blossom Festival in downtown DC. It was the final day of peak bloom for the little blossoms, so we got down there in the afternoon, hoping to avoid the mass amounts of people that went down for the parade that morning. We did not avoid the masses.
It was nuts down there yesterday. Boyf had to wait in line for a good 15 minutes to get his metro ticket (<cough> Thank goodness he finally listened to SOMEONE and got a SmarTrip <cough cough>)
Anywho, here are some of the beautiful nature shots of the blossoms and the monuments that I got. It was such a beautiful day out. We couldn’t have asked for better weather.
Here is the Jefferson Memorial across the tidal basin. There were cultural performances going on there all day.
I loved all the pretty blossoms!

I love this picture. These are a different type of cherry blossoms, there aren’t as many of these kinds of trees as the other ones pictured above, I just think these are so pretty.
It was a blustery day, much of the blossoms ended up in the water. There were some bratty kids who were throwing trash in the water, and pulling the blossoms off the trees and tossing them on the ground. Made me so mad. Where are the parents? Who lets their kids run around like that? It was so disrespectful. Ugh! Sorry, this picture just reminded me of my frustration. Back to the pretty blossoms:
So much fun to go downtown and see the blossoms. It was nuts down there because of so many people. Next year I would like to go down during a weekday and have a picnic and just hang out. Sign me up for that!
