Today was a fabulous mail day for me. My mom got me a present for completing my first half marathon. I saw this necklace in a store in Annapolis last weekend, and they didn’t have my “L” initial, but after a little online research, it was in the mail and now I have it today! Yippee! It is tenderly cast from hand-stamped wax seals. The off-set serif letters look right out of a book of fairy tales. I love the detail. I have my finishers necklace which I will always treasure, but I love this gift from my mom as well. It’s a reminder of all the work I have put into my running, a symbol of how far I have come, but also how far I want to go.
Another fun part of my mail today was my new HARO shirt. Have you heard of “HARO” ? It stands for Help A Reporter Out and it is run by Peter Shankman. He is genius. HARO is where reporters come looking for sources. They send queries to Peter who in turn takes those sources and produces 3 email blasts each day. Each email has 15-30 queries attached which are broken down into category. My favorite part about HARO is that Peter does it for the good karma, because not only is it free, it’s a fabulous way to reach 100,000+ people!
Jackson and I give a ‘thumbs up’ to HARO!
I have read Peter’s book (which seriously rocks), I follow his blog everyday, I follow his training, I pretty much stalk him on a daily basis! I love the HARO concept, and am pumped that I am the proud owner of their new shirts! Thanks Peter! I will wear it with pride!
