Today the bride and I had our day of fun. We started off the morning with an early showing of My Sister’s Keeper. I just finished the book and let me tell you, the movie was NOTHING like the book. Completely different ending. I was kind of disappointed. I didn’t enjoy the ending of the book, but I thought it was so much better, something serious to think about, than the boring way they ended the movie. But then again, I always compare every book to movie to the Harry Potter series, and nothing is EVER as good. Anyone else see the movie or have any thoughts?
Post movie we hit up Panera. I love their you pick two combos. I got the Strawberry Poppyseed salad and the Summer Corn Chowder. Both were way to sweet for me, but they looked pretty:
Then the bride and I hit up the Leesburg Outlets. I was pretty good. I restrained myself, but I did make some smart purchases at fabulous deals. I am not one to pass up a good bargain!
Then we stopped by Lansdowne Resort, where the bride is getting married next June! Less than one year baby! I hadn’t seen the place yet, and since I am her MOH (Maid of Honor) she wanted me to see the place to help with decorating ideas. It’s so gorgeous:
I love the exposed brick, its also a waterfall, which you can’t see. And the backdrop can’t be beat. It is located in Virginia Wine Country. So beautiful!
Who WOULDN’T want to get married here? Check out all the greenery
This is where the reception will be. It has such a warm feeling inside.
The resort is home to a driving range, golf course, spa, restaurants, it even overlooks the Potomac at one point! I love all the character in the small details of the place.
Can you believe the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in the background? I heart nature.
So like I said, her wedding is a teeny tiny bit less than a year away, but I am sure the time will just fly by. I am sure everything will be beautiful. You couldn’t ask for better scenery!

i saw my sister's keeper today and was shocked at how they changed the ending!
Aw, yay, it look like a fab place for a wedding! And you should try the Mediterranean Veggie sammie at Panera. Now, THATS good stuff!
I have been hearing that many peopel are disappointed in My Sister's Keeper, too bad it is a great book.
The Lansdowne Resort looks beautiful. What a perfectplace to get married.
Agh! That's where I got married in March! Your friend will LOVE it! Honestly, they did a phenomenol job – is Lindsay her coordinator? If you need any tips let me know – it was such a fabulous venue. People are STILL talking about the food – and normally that's not a huge selling point. They also did my cake – I just sent them in two pictures of what I wanted and it was everything I dreamed of and more. I'm so excited for your friend!
