One Successful Saturday

Today was a fabulous little Saturday. We got a lot accomplished and did many things in a short amount of time. Got up bright and early and did a little decorating. We hung a few pictures, cleaned the place up a bit and took Jackson out for a little play time outside with the other dogs. All before 11:00 am!

I wanted to share with you a picture of a little of the decorating we did today. I got this vase at the Philadelphia Flower Show almost two years ago with my old roommate Kate. It has been begging me to hang it up, but I didn’t have a spot for it. Today I found the perfect spot.

I love the detail. It’s made of iron, so its super heavy. I am going to dry some flowers and leave them in there, but I added some of the roses boyf got me and it just looks lovely as far as I am concerned. I put it on this wall in between a door and a doorway, so there wasn’t a whole lot you could do with the space. Yay for decorating!

Today was also Manayunk Second Saturday. Manayunk is where boyf used to live, which is about a mile or so from where we are now. They were having a Paws on Main parade for homeless animals, so we decided to stop by. Jackson made some new friends, and was in charge of a kissing booth:

Seriously, how cute is that? I saw it, and I was like, we HAVE to get Jackson’s picture taken there! Haha. Here are the outtakes/not AS cute ones of him, but still super adorable. I love being around other people who are as crazy about their dogs/pets as I am about Jackson.

Post puppy parade we stopped by one of my FAVORITE places to eat in Manayunk  – The Couch Tomato Cafe. I LOVE this place. It has amazing pizza and salads. Two of my favorite things. It is right on Main Street in Manayunk and has outside seating so Jackson was able to join us! Yay!

I mean check out these pizzas! They have so many on their menu. Today we got the pepperoni, which is pretty standard, and we got the buffalo chicken. It’s so pretty, and it is full of flavor. I love it!

Jackson was hanging out, watching us eat, being his cute little self.

Yum! I love how they did the stripes of flavor across the pizza. It makes it look so pretty.

Boyf and I split a salad with our slices of pizza. We got the Where’s Waldorf? salad. It has sliced apples, gorgonzola, candied pecans and raisins with a poppy seed dressing. It is quite delightful.

Post playing with his new puppy friends at home, making new friends at Paws on Main, and joining us for lunch, Jackson was pooped! He had a long day already and it was only 1:00!

Boyf and I dropped off Jackson at home and decided to explore the neighborhood a little bit. We see signs all over the place for Sherman Mills and heard it was filled with artist and yoga studios, so we walked over to check it out. The place was pretty quiet and not too much to see, but I did find a glorious gem:

Sugar and Spice Bakeshop….ummm HEAVEN! I can walk to this place from where I live. It also has free wi-fi, and since you all know of my current internet situation, which is currently non-existent from Comcast, this is perfect. I had to buy a Red Velvet Cupcake, obviously. Isn’t it pretty? I got it to go and they gave me a cute little box to hold it in. It’s the little things in life that make me happy! I am saving it for later, so I will let you know how it is. I am sure its just fabulous. You can bet I will be back getting some more of these! This could be dangerous.  moving 362

And this was my day all before 2:00! Pretty productive if you ask me. More later when I have internet. Still no word back from Comcast on when I will be getting it installed. One word for that – Frustration! Nothing I can do about it now though. Have a good night!
