I was feeling so excited today about my new site, I decided to switch it up from my usual green monster and try something new! Today’s green monster included 3-4 cups of spinach, 1 banana, handful of blueberries, 1 kiwi and a snippet of ginger.
I picked up the ginger root from my visit to the Marketplace at East Falls. I knew ginger had some pretty awesome health benefits, so I wanted to see what it was going to be like in my morning monsters. I checked out the benefits after I had tried it, and most of the benefits don’t currently apply to me, but I think it was good to know about them either way!
Just a Few Health Benefits of Ginger include:
-
Has been known to calm an upset tummy, seasickness, morning sickness, chemotherapy treatments & overall nausea
-
Tea brewed from ginger is a folk remedy for colds
-
May decrease joint pain from arthritis
-
May have blood thinning and cholesterol lowering properties that can be used for treating heart disease
All together in the blender!
I also added some Milled Golden Flax that Flax Matters sent me to review. As you all know, I am a big fan of adding flax to my morning green monsters. I have been adding flax seeds from the beginning, but this Milled Flax is so soft and fluffy and was just a perfect addition to the monster. I loved it!
2 tablespoons of this flax provides lots of Omega-3, fiber and antioxidants! Flax Matters suggest you add this milled flax to any baked goods, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt or casseroles. I am totally going to try to sneak more flax in my diet!
Another beautiful morning, another wonderful green monster! What a perfect way to start the day!

Boyf and I are both off today! We are going to hang out all day and get a few things done. We are heading to the Eagles game tonight, so I am pumped about that! I love having days off during the week! Sometimes I feel like they are so much more fun than weekend lazy days, don’t you think?
Last thing: Check out this awesome section in the Flax Matters site here. Its different recipes for skin and hair care using flax! I totally want to try to make flax lotion! How fun would that be?
Off to take on the day! Have a beautiful Thursday!
