I got a package the other day from Flax Matters. I have been using flax in my green monster since the beginning, so I was super pumped to add flax to other things too!
I received Pancake and Waffle Mix, Milled Golden Flax and MeadowPure Ultra SmoothOmega™ Milled Flax. So much to try!
This morning boyf and I decided to make pancakes! Sunday pancakes are always fun to wake up to!
To make pancakes with this mix all you have to do is add 1 cup of the mixture, 1/2 cup of milk, an egg and a dash of oil. Stir away and you are ready to go!
I had a heart shaped pancake maker, but it didn’t go over so well. It did keep the batter from running all over the place, so it was at least good for something. The last few of the pancakes were ‘heart-esque’ in shape.
Boyf and I have been talking about making chocolate chip pancakes FOREVER, but every time we go to the grocery store, we forget the stupid chocolate chips. Today we improvised and threw in some M&Ms for good measure.
The last few pancakes were a lot better than the first. In taste, shape and looks.
With my pancakes I also tried some new tea I received from Mighty Leaf. I LOVE that name by the way!
It was Organic African Nectar and it was very good. It had a light flowery taste. I also enjoyed that fact that, according to boyf, each tea bag is hand stitched.
I wish I had a gorgeous chandelier like Kath to take pretty pictures in my tea cups reflection.
The half of a banana and a strawberry were perfect additions to the pancakes. They added just a hint of sweetness which I loved.
The pancakes were really amazing. They were light and fluffy, but had a great whole-grain texture to them. I can’t wait to make them again!
Since I wrote this post this morning the power in our apartment complex went out for 3 hours due to the storms in the Philadelphia area. It’s back on now, and I hope it stays on! I have another great giveaway to announce tonight, so stay tuned! Enjoy your Sunday!
