After my tour de the East Coast the past day and a half, it was nice to be able to spend some short quality time at home with my mom and dad in Virginia. It was great to see the ‘rents but it was even more awesome that my mom sent me home with cupcakes!
A big ‘ol box of spiced cupcakes. Topped with sprinkles, because that’s how I roll.
They are so good. I think what makes them even better is the secret ingredient: Mom Love
There is no better day to end any day than with a cupcake (or two!)
I also brought a few things from VA to PA. I had this old corkboard from college that was gathering dust in my parents basement. I wanted to make it my running inspiration board!
I put up the race bib’s I had, some medals and a few pictures. It feels really good to have it hanging up in the room.
It’s a constant reminder of how far I have come in terms of running and even a little inspiration for where I want to go with it in the future. I have big plans for the future indeed!
After Aileen’s Marathon Experience in NYC this past weekend, I decided to take the plunge and register for the 2010 NYC Marathon Lottery. There is a slim chance (I think) that I will get in, but I have definitely surprised myself by even entering. I feel fairly confident in my running ability, and while the idea of a marathon (aka 26.2 LOOONG miles) is daunting, it is something I want to be able to compete put it on my wall of accomplishment at some point.
We shall see. Time will tell!
Part of me still thinks 26.2 miles is crazy talk. Some part of me even thinks 13.1 miles is a little nuts-o, and I have ran 2 half marathons with 2 more approaching on the horizon. 10 miles is my happy place. Its a nice challenge but not too much of a challenge for me. But I would like to run a marathon one day….one day…
Jackson has had a busy few days running around with me all over the place! He hit the hay early tonight!
I seriously don’t think he can get any cuter! It’s impossible.
Stay tuned for the winner of the Healthy Living YoPlus Gift pack announcement tomorrow AND another giveaway will be up!

Yum Cupcakes.
I love the idea of posting your race items on the corkboard. It's such a great reminder of your accomplishments.
I love the idea of the inspiration board! This year has been a big running year for me as well and now I regret not saving my race bibs.
As for the marathon – you can totally do it!
Mom Love is the best ingredient!
I love how Jackson is curled up under the blankets!

I signed up for the NYCM lottery yesterday too 😀 hehe
What an accomplishment! If I participated in so many races, I would save the the race bibs too. Way to go!
