A big staple of my winter eats is usually soup! I love a warm and hearty bowl on a cold winter day. To me it is so comforting to have a hot bowl of soup. I recently received a box of Dr. McDougall’s Ready to Serve Vegan Chunky Carton Soups to review.
My sample box contained – Roasted Red Pepper, Minestrone, Vegetable, Chunky Tomato, Lentil and Black Bean soups. I have lots of soups to try over the coming weeks!
I started off my soup journey by testing out the Lentil soup. I have never had Lentil soup before in my life, so I didn’t know what to expect, but it was oh so yummy. The soup blended lentils with brown rice and vegetables in a tasty seasoned broth.
Aside from the lentils and the rice, also in the soup was onions, carrots, celery, tomatoes and garlic, among other flavors. The soup is gluten free and all natural. It also had only 115 calories per serving, which I was initially concerned about. I didn’t think it would hold me over for very long, but I was pleasantly surprised when I was satisfied and not hungry for the rest of the evening.
I also had a small potato roll on the side for some fun dipping action.
I can’t wait to try out all the other soups. This one was fabulous!
Another giveaway just in time for Christmas! The wonderful people at Dr. McDougall’s wanted to give a box of Ready to Serve Vegan Chunky Carton Soups just like what I got above to one lucky And Her Little Dog Too reader.
I should also mention that the package that Dr. McDougall’s sent included the bowl, placemat, napkin and napkin ring in the picture above. All of these things are from one of my favorite stores, the fabulous Crate and Barrel! I love the massive bowl and the bamboo place setting for one! It’s sure to look amazing on any table! The winner gets the bowl and the entire place setting too! Yay!

i wanna win! do you know, everyday for all 4 years in highschool, for breakfast my mom just fed me campbells soup? one day it's be clam chowder day (which weirdly coincided with MONDAYS eww) or chicken vegatble with rice, or chicken noodle (SODIUM BOMB). re: crate and barrel. my sister goes into there every time and gets a catalogue. the next few days are spent planning out what would go in her cabana and house. hahah.
i don't eat on a placemat. caveman, i am, so this would b appreciated.
you're on my google reader.
Oh my gosh! I'd LOVE to win this giveaway! How cute is that with the placemat and everything! I love it!!!

I should win so I can be "Soupy" Tater Tot.
Har har har
I would like to win this giveaway, because I am so bored with my usual lunches…yet, every time I go to the grocery store, I keep buying the same thing. This would give me some new options and help me spice up my regular lunch routine!
I am a follower as well!
You've done great with getting seriuosly awesome companies to work with you!! No need to enter me this time, but wanted to let you know I've been trying to link up your contests
Wow! I would really love to win. I never seem to win anything, so what could be better then some healthy soup on a cold winter day? If I don't win, I will still see if I can find the soup around here.
You are on my blog roll, I am following your blog, I added you to my reader, I will be linking to you from my blog, I follow you on Twitter, and I tweeted about this giveaway.
Because I have never tried this soup and because I am ME!…reason enough….lol!
Bee Happy and Enjoy!
Nice bloggie you have!
I would love to win this, I love soup but my hubby doesn't so I rarely make it for myself. I also live in a small town so I don't have a great selection of brands and flavors.
You're already on my Google Reader and I'm adding you to my twitter too. I'm also linking to this on my blog. All bases covered, I really want that soup! 🙂
Oh and PS, you're also on my blogroll.
Okay, so this probably won't make you laugh, but I should win because I just broke up with my boyfriend after 5 years and 10 months so the "single" place setting is totally appropriate for me. Now that I'm eating alone, at least I can do it in style. (I'm subscribed to you in Google Reader.)
Oooh I want to win. I've been craving soup for a while now…. alas, I have been distracted by all the holiday goodies….. bad for my waistline!
Also, I don't have any food left in my pantry; only a can of beans, jam, and a can of sardines. Stocking up with soup would be sweet.
I'm a follower and you are on my blog roll (3 entries)
I would love a chance to try out all these soups. I have been able to try the vegetable and minestrone and they were both delicious.
Also, I am a follower!
I think I should be the lucky winner because I'm extremely unlucky. No, just kidding 🙂 I'm very blessed in life, but my husband and I are big fans of all things soup, so we'd feel doubly blessed if we won!
Oh, and I'm following you on my google reader 🙂
PS — Just linked to your contest on my blog for today like I said I would. =)

I would love to win this BUT since you said I could tell you a story to make you laugh I am even MORE excited about that…
I have a standard poodle puppy (6 month old) and a 3 year old nephew. So my nephew Tyler comes over one day and says to me "My haves a black dog and him haves brown eyes" – I smile at him. And then he continues "And you haves a brown dog and him haves no eyes" I laughed and brushed Dobby's (my pup) hair over his eye closest to me back and he say "AHH I get it you haves a brown dog and him haves one eyes" I never laughed so hard… And poor Tyler couldn't figure out why I was laughing!
And you are on my google reader!
Are you kidding?? I'd love to win this. Been a McDougall fan for years and besides…I just decluttered the stuffing out of our kitchen and went all green. Bought Tiffin boxes and reusable bamboo utensils for each family member. Silly me…I forgot to save soup bowls. 😉 Ah well, live and learn.
Why do I think I should win? I'm a very frazzled vegetarian who is at her wits end with school and work. The idea of actually preparing a full meal leaves me feeling exhausted (mostly because I spend my days envisioning punching certain school teammates in the face. That's really exhausting). These soups sound right up my alley and I'm sure my husband would appreciate it too. 🙂
I follow you on Twitter adn you're on my blogroll. I'm going to tweet your giveaway now!
I would love to win because I love soup and am a poor college student who could use the free food!
I would love to win these, because you can never have too many vegetarian soups around!
You're in my Google reader
oh how i love soups. it is the perfect dinner on a chilly night. it can pair up with a sandwich or a salad.
i've never tried this soup-but i'm sure i'd dig it!
what a great giveaway I would love to win to be able to try some new soups. That single place setting is so cute maybe setting it up at the table would throw my kids off enough to actually let me eat dinner in peace.

I can't cook, so if I don't win this contest I'm going to be very hungry.
I follow
I've been seeing this soup everywhere, so I really want to try it. Plus, I do not have good bowls for salads/soups!
You are on my reader AND you're my Twitter friend!
I'd love to win because the more vegan, the better! I thought about making up a story about having my jaw wired shut and being restrained to a soup-only diet. That just seemed a bit intense. 😀
Um, I wanna' win so I can leave Santa a nice, warm, nourishing bowl of soup instead of cookies and milk!
