I am running in the morning! I have mentally decided that I am going to do it and I am excited about it! I won’t be waking up much earlier than I normally would on a Saturday, because I was planning on running tomorrow anyways, and the race starts at 9:00 am! That’s such a good time to start a race, because you don’t have to get up at an ungodly hour!
So wish me luck tomorrow in the Ambler Area Running Club’s Frostbite 5-Miler! It looks like a good race. I haven’t run outside in a LONG time, so that’s my only concern, but I’m sure I will figure it out. My Garmin, iPod and camera are all charging, I have set out my race clothes, all I have to do is wake up tomorrow!
So for dinner I was originally planning on doing a wine and cheese night with fiancé, but now that I am running in the morning, I had to do a little change of plans. No alcohol tonight for me! Instead I made myself a nice big plate of Brussels sprouts!
I seasoned these babies with some lemon juice and sat them in the oven for 30 minutes at 375* – turning them once. They were crunchy and delicious. It was the perfect race night meal. I also have plans of making a green monster before I head to bed.
I also tried a new beverage today! I was sent some Maqui Superberry Liquid the other day to try from Novelle International. The website states the Maqui berry was traditionally used in supporting stamina, strength, and health.
I used my Sodastream Penguin, which makes sparkling water to create a fabulous Maqui beverage. I just put in 1 capful of the liquid and filled the rest of the glass up with water and ice. It was a very light flavor, but it was good!
Let’s hope it gives me lots of energy for tomorrow! I can’t wait to add another bib to my collection! Wish me luck!
I’ll be back tomorrow with a race recap!

Good luck! I get so nervous before races, so deciding last minute is a good idea!
Good luck! Let me know if the smoothie helped. 🙂
Good luck at your race tomorrow!!
9 am is not a bad time to run. At least you get to sleep in a bit. Where I live, our races always start at about 6am in order to beat the heat and the sun.
Good luck with your run. I hope that you kick some butt!
I love roasted brussel sprouts! They are like french fries to me!
