The other day during my time in Boston I had the time to spend the afternoon on Newbury Street and meet up with some friends.
Newbury Street is just gorgeous. There are so many amazing buildings and beautiful architecture all around.
My friends made reservations for us to eat at Piattini which is a wine bar, gelateria, cafe and restaurant all in one!
The friends that I got to see were Julie and Steph. They are both two of my best friends (mates!) from studying abroad in Australia during my Junior year of college. We were all in the same study abroad program and went to the same college Down Under. We met in California boarding the train to Oz and have been friends ever since! They both live in Boston and we rarely get to see each other, so this was a real treat.
I love these girls!
We had mimosas to celebrate our reunion! Cheers!
For lunch I enjoyed a whole wheat vegetable wrap and a side salad.
It was filled with cheese, artichokes and roasted red peppers. It was delish! Writing about it now sort of makes my mouth water.
The restaurant was really cute. It was small inside, but had more room about the side, where we sat. There was also wine everywhere!
When we went it was a beautiful day out and lots of people were sitting outside under these big umbrellas. So fun!
After lunch we spent some of the afternoon walking around.
And we enjoyed some more of the scenery.
We had some slight drama when Julie got some gum on her purse, but we kept calm and carried on!
Did I mention this area of Boston is glorious?!
After some more walking, we decided to take some pics on a stoop.
Fiancé was there for the day too! I believe he enjoyed walking around, eating good food and hanging out with some of my friends.
Side note: The stoop we had a photo shoot on here is actually my blog friend Carissa’s stoop. Carissa is my friend over the internet, but she is Steph and Julie’s friend in real life! I’ve never met Carissa, she was on vacation when I was in Boston this time sadly.
I gave her apartment a little wave while I was there, so it was kind of like we we met, right?! Another example that its a small small world.
I have to admit, my entire reason for heading to Newbury Street, other than hanging out with my mates, was focused on one thing:
I have seen this place appear ALL OVER the blog world, and anytime I do I pretty much drool. When fiancé and I started planning our trip to Boston, I couldn’t shut up about how excited I was to visit here!
So many ice cream flavors here to choose from!
Obviously Tina mentioned to me at the Boston Blogger Bash that I had to hit up this place too. I see JP Licks all over her blog!
I knew what I wanted way before I even walked in the door. Sabrina told me what was best on the menu. She would never lead me in the wrong direction, so I went with her suggestion!
Peanut butter non-fat soft serve with sprinkled covered chocolate!
Love.
This ice cream was amazing. Any chance they are going to open a Philadelphia location?? I hope so!
Best Ice Cream EVER!
Another great day in Boston filled with fun times with friends, great food and amazing ice cream!
What’s your favorite ice cream place?

Whenever I visit Boston I always go to Newbury street. I just love the feel of being in that area!
Whenever I see that ice cream place on blogs I want to jump in a plane, fly to Boston and get me some of that ice cream!
Love ice cream but lately I have been doing the gelato thing. It is so creamy and I miss it from my Study Abroad in Europe.
We need a JP Licks in DC! Sad to say that I love Dairy Queen Soft Serve – I'm deprived, huh?
That Newberry Street looks amazing – glad you and fiance got to enjoy it too!
Definitely my kind of place…

AWWW you girls are too cute!! I saw that first picture and was like – wait a minute, that stoop looks familiar! haha I am so bummed that I wasn't there to meet you and hang out with you girls. Hopefully we will have another chance soon! 🙂 xoxo
