Last Friday, in all the craziness during our time in Boston, started our one year before the wedding countdown!
Fiancé and I started our evening with a classy celebration which included champagne chilled in the hotel sink!
I love champagne with fun corks!
It was a nice way to celebrate the day!
Cheers! This time next year we will be married!
After our toast, we headed out in Boston on a nice long walk towards dinner. We made our way though the Quincy Market area.
This place was bumpin’ on a Friday afternoon.
Then we walked our way to the North End along the water.
It was so pretty there! I could have sat there all day and watched the water flow on by!
After our long walk, we ended up at our dinner destination which was recommended by reader Lauren! (Thanks Lauren!)
Lauren emailed me and said: “Lunch on the roof deck patio at Fiore in the North End – this is the ONLY roof deck dinning in the north end (Boston’s "little Italy"). They don’t take reservations up there so if it’s a nice day it can fill up quickly. It’s also fun to just enjoy some wine at the bar out there if tables aren’t available.”
It was a lovely evening, so the rooftop bar was PACKED!
We scoped it out but it was really loud, so we decided to head inside.
The inside dining looked very nice, but we decided to put our name on the list for a table outside on the patio, which had a much shorter wait than the upstairs deck and was much quieter.
While we waited for the table we hung out at the bar.
After a little while we were seated outside in the patio section which was secluded and quiet. It was a great spot! Fiancé ordered a bottle of wine for the table!
Another cheers to our countdown until the wedding!
I took a picture of my bling on the cork.
For dinner we shared an Insalata Mista – which had Boston lettuce, radicchio, endive, sweet onions, tomatoes, oranges and fresh strawberries, tossed with white balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil
We also shared the Bombolotti al Forno – made with homemade signature pasta tossed with sautéed spicy Italian sausages, onion, tomato sauce and fresh basil topped with regiano and goat cheese
It was a great meal, definitely hit the spot! I don’t know why but its so much more fun to celebrate any occasion with fabulous Italian food. It was great to spend the evening in the North End at another fabulous restaurant!
Cheers to 4+ years of love!
After our celebratory dinner we headed on over to the Atlantic Beer Garden to meet my friend Julie.
Julie and I studied abroad together in Australia our Junior year of college. We have kept in touch since then and see each other whenever possible! This time it worked out we were both going to be in Boston the same time so obviously we had to get together for a joyous reunion!
Fun and crazy times were had, it was so much fun to spend the evening with my good friend (and faithful reader!) Julie!
JuJu-Bee! I love you theeee!
I will be back with a few more recaps from our time in Boston this past weekend and also updates of what’s going on now in Philadelphia!
