Have I told you lately that I love my Uwishunu gig? I recently got to enjoy another amazing restaurant on You Wish’s behalf. Here is my little review of The Silverspoon in Wayne, Pa.
Tucked away on Lancaster Avenue is a little place known as The Silverspoon. This restaurant is family-owned and operated by the Silverbergs, Rich and Ruth, and their son Ron is the Executive Chef.
This is a family-run business, and you can tell. All the work that’s gone into the little details throughout the restaurant, make you feel at home.
The restaurant is very cozy, only housing about 36 seats inside. There is also an outdoor space that opens up when the weather is nice. Any restaurant that has outdoor seating is a winner in my book, because there is nothing better than enjoying a meal outside on a lovely day.
The main focus of the menu is on sustainable, local ingredients. The menu changes often based on what is available and what is in season. I love places that change their menu because it’s always fun to try new, fresh food, and at The Silverspoon fresh is exactly what you get.
Obviously as soon as I sat down I tweeted and foursquared my arrival to the restaurant. Fiancé caught me in action!
Even the ceilings were super cool! Check them out!
The restaurant is a BYO, so fiancé and I brought with us a nice bottle of red that we received at our engagement party!
Cheers!
Two thumbs up from fiancé!
With our wine we were served a lovely cheese plate.
With our cheese plate was served a bowl of olives and veggies.
My favorite new veggie of the evening was my discovery of the fiddlehead. It is a really cool leaf vegetable. They come in fun spiral shapes and are crunchy and yummy!
Ever tried a fiddlehead?
We then started out with the Wild Mushroom Soup – which was topped with cumin croutons and chili oil.
I don’t like mushrooms, but I LOVED this soup!
We also enjoyed some bread.
My date – hubba hubba
Then came the salad which was amazing. It was a spring mix with mango, almonds and a champagne vinaigrette. It was delish!
And if you think that was enough food for the evening, you were very wrong! We were just getting started! We were then served 3 entrees to share.
Pork 2 Ways – crispy belly, cheek fennel pierogies, ceci bean-marrow ragout and pickled ramps
Wild Alaskan Halibut with fava bean puree, stinging nettles, lola rose and truffle butter
Seared bison strip loin, cauliflower puree, trumpet mushrooms, fiddlehead ferns, fingerlings, bordelaise
With a side of the grilled biggest asparagus in a balsamic reduction I have ever seen!
They were massive!
Everything was delicious! It was a lot of food, but it was all so good. You can defiantly taste all the freshness in the food!
I have a serious sweet tooth, so I made sure to save room for dessert.
We tried the warm apple crisp
And the classic warm chocolate chip cookies and milk!
The Silverspoon’s menu features cuisine using local and sustainably raised meats, seafood and poultry. Whole heirloom grains are served. Vegetables are offered according to their season.
This is my kind of place!

One of my favorite parts about visiting The Silverspoon was learning about their theme night – World Tour Wednesday. Every Wednesday the restaurant features a four course World Tour menu. Each Wednesday is different and each course comes from another place around the world.
When you get there on Wednesday you are given a fun passport to keep and after you come to 3 World Tours your 4th is FREE! $35 prix fix for 4 different destinations featuring two appetizers a main course and dessert. That is a fabulous deal on the Main Line!

Wow, The Silverspoon looked amazing – great food and atmosphere. The World Tour Wednesday sounds like loads of fun and a great way to enjoy foods from around the world. Yeah for the Main Line!
Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum 🙂
I am SO there! Can't wait to go.
Just went to The Silvespoon yesterday for lunch and also had a great time/great food! Can't wait to try it for dinner and now that I have seen all the different offerings from your pics I am rushing to make a reservation. I love that the parking is easy too. I go into the City (from Bala) all the time for the great restaurants because The Main Line for me has fallen short on great places. There are a few but now..things are looking up!
