This weekend was my first trip to the lovely land of Illinois. I was excited to spend time in Chicago and though the majority of my weekend was pretty jam packed I was excited when I set aside some time to explore the city!
Our hotel was located on Michigan Avenue, which turned out to be a perfect location. We were able to walk (and run!) to lots of fun sights around the city.
Chicago was just beautiful! All the buildings were so pretty, everything was really clean and it was easy to get everywhere.
I loved all the architecture of all the different buildings! When I come back in October I definitely want to check out one of the architectural boat tour I have heard great things about!
There are also lots of great pieces of art all around the city. I loved this wall that had water flowing down it. Kids played in it all day!
At night this had graphics on it and had water spouting out of it!
I was most excited to check out Millennium Park
I was beyond excited to finally see The Bean!
I just think this thing is so freaking cool. I loved looking at it, taking pictures of it and watching people interact with it!
This is actually called Cloud Gate. It is made of stainless steel and it was inspired by liquid mercury and the sculpture’s surface reflects and distorts the city’s skyline.
I had so much fun taking pictures here. Can you find me?
Jess, Paige, Beck, Lindsay, Jen and I had fun taking pictures together
I thought it was funny that thing group of guys were taking a cute picture together!
Everyone loves playing with The Bean!
Have you ever seen The Bean?
I can’t wait to come back and see it again in October!
After playing with The Bean for a while we continued our way down Michigan Avenue and took in the sights.
I love how the newspapers are set up like this. I think its so cute!
We went into a few shops and checked out some fun stuff.
We walked all the way down to the Riverwalk area.
It was really pretty.
A funny part of the afternoon was when we passed by the Garmin store and everyone stopped to take pictures!
Running bloggers love their Garmins!
I loved this piece of art which is a old fridge covered in shoes which are growing small plants.
Pretty cool, right?
All in all it was a lovely afternoon after the Summit spent taking in the sights and checking out some of Chicago. I am so excited to come back in October with Fiancé and explore some more!

I wish we had went to the bean! I went two years ago when we were in Chicago for my bday, but not this time, doh!
It was SO GREAT to finally meet you! Although I totally felt like I already knew you from reading your lovely blog. Let's touch base later this week about scheduling a Philly bloggers din or something. Maybe a run too?
