This evening I was invited to an amazing media event in Manayunk. Bourbon Blue was hosting a VIP Deck Opening Party to celebrate the addition of their new outdoor dining deck, which overlooks the Manayunk canal.
I had been to Bourbon Blue a few times over the years. Back in the day my sorority held an event there in college and my mom and fiancé’s mom met for the first time here last year as well, so the place does hold a little history for me.
I am so glad I went to this event tonight for many reasons- the restaurant is under complete new management (who I met and were awesome!) and there is such an easy chill vibe to the place – It’s great
Part of the media event was that we got to try any of the drinks offered as well as various samplings from the menu. I was very excited to try some new eats and drinks!
Aside from the amazing complimentary food and drink this evening, I was excited about the happy hour specials throughout the week. This is good information to know! A good happy hour makes me extra happy!
After I got settled into the party I decided it was time for a little cocktail action. There were so many amazing signature drinks on the menu to choose from.
I decided to start off with the cucumber mojito, because I seriously enjoy cucumbers.
It was delightful and tasted as good as it looks!
With my cocktail in hand I thought it was time to snap some pictures of the beautiful scenery.
I love all the little details.
I love that Bourbon Blue has such a beautiful indoor and outdoor space. Something that’s definitely hard to come by in Philadelphia!
The canal area in Manayunk is so quiet and serene. There aren’t many restaurant spaces with water views so this is a nice perk!
After taking in the lovely views it was time to eat! Here are some of the things I had a little taste of.
Lots of yumminess going on! My favorite thing was the tilapia and sweet potato hash I had a taste of. It was amazing. I must come back solely to eat that dish!
While we were all enjoying the lovely party, we all got to check out the musical styling’s of Tim Williams. He was awesome!
Since we were all here to celebrate the opening of the beautiful deck, I figured it would only be right for me to include some pictures.
Pretty nice space, right? This is only half of it.
After frolicking around the party some more it was time to try out another cocktail. This time I went for the signature Bourbon Blue Dirty Martini, since they are known for being awesome! I couldn’t pass one up!
Remember when I had my first dirty martini not too long ago??
Blue cheese olives make me happy. Is that bad?
Drinky drink!
While I was enjoying my dirty martini the lovely ladies came around carrying the dessert selections.
One of each for me please and thank you.
I would like to do a special shout out to my new friend Aly who invited me to come to the amazing event tonight. I had a great time chatting with her about Bourbon Blue and about all things blogging and Philly and Philly blogging! Aly you are awesome!
Fiancé and I were so pumped to be able to come to the event tonight. We had a great time trying out some amazing food and drink and meeting some fun people! I love nights out mid week!
In other news – Did I show you my cute new orange heels?
Perfect for the Fall, right?? I heart them!
Thanks for a great evening out Bourbon Blue!
We will be back SOON! 🙂
