I love race Expo’s!
I wake up the morning of race expo’s like a kid on Christmas! I am always so excited to get there and I always spend so much time there!
This expo was different – I have never been to a marathon expo before, so I was expecting big things.
But nothing could have prepared me for how BIG this expo actually was!
Fiancé and I got there bright and early to beat all the lines, which worked out perfectly. I got my bib no problem, which was nice!
I am LOVING the 10-10-10 theme. I think Bank of America has done an awesome job with all the merchandising. It makes the fact that this is my first marathon even more special that it falls on such a fun date!
Being at the expo and getting all the amazing free stuff was so much fun, but I kept on remembering the reason why I am here, which is to RUN – and that thought keeps making me a little nervous because I have never run this distance before.
But it was so fun to walk around the expo! I kept running ahead of fiancé because I would get so excited when I saw something fun!
The current alert level is low – which means good running conditions for the race – thumbs up for that! I hope it stays that way!
I really enjoyed all the mile markers around the expo!
I did a little shopping…
Did a little sampling…
umm….chocolate peppermint luna chap stick?! yes please!
The expo also had this huge wall with every runners name on it in alphabetical order. After a while I found my name and was pumped!
I am an official runner!
The Nike expo space even had a DJ! It was huge!
Can’t wait to get to Mile 21 because after 21.5 every step will be a PDR!
Fiancé had fun walking around the expo too. He had never been to one before and was overwhelmed by its awesomeness!
Here are the main goods from the swag bag. I LOVE the shirt!
I also enjoy the free pictures we got to take!
Don’t forget to track me if you wish! Bib # 8746!
I got my fuel all ready to go for tomorrow! I heart berry flavor!
Also, here is the awesome Nike track jacket I got.
I love how it says Chicago Marathon 10-10-10 on the front on the side sleeve! I also enjoy the grey and pink!
I figure its my first marathon, I can splurge on a fun purchase!
Don’t you love outtake pictures?!
I am off to dinner and then will be back with a preview of my race day outfit for tomorrow! See you in a bit!
