The Power of Consent

This evening, Fiancé and I had a very important meeting at Villanova.

We met with our priest and went over a bunch of paperwork that we had to finalize before the upcoming wedding.

We met with the priest together and then he met with each of us individually. The theme of the meeting was the priest confirming that we both consent to the marriage. He even had a legal document that he needed to fill out that involved him calling 4 members of our family and friends to make sure we were getting married for the right reasons.

So a Special Thank You goes out to my dad, my brother Michael, Fiancé’s sister, Kate and our friend Spicer for answering their phones!

It was fun to spend some time on campus and it was nice to talk with our priest about our upcoming wedding as well as our new marriage. Sometimes its easy to get caught up in all the craziness of wedding planning – but it’s important to remember that the wedding is just one day, and we are preparing for a lifetime together.

It’s important to keep everything in perspective!

After our meeting we were hungry for dinner so we decided to hit up a local Villanova hot spot – OK, maybe it isn’t really a Villanova spot, but when I went there, I always loved to venture over to Thai Pepper – so we hit it up for dinner!

Fiancé started off with a beer, but I stuck to water. I am trying to cut back on drinking during the week days. After all, I do have a wedding dress to look fabulous in very soon!

But I did steal a sip of the Hop Devil – such a good beer!

For dinner we split two entrees – the green Thai curry.

And the shrimp pad Thai.

I had a bit of each, along with some rice. Both dishes were unbelievable. I always forget how good this place is! We don’t really live too far from it, so hopefully we will be back again for another fabulous meal!

Another fabulous evening in And Her Little Dog Too world. I am excited to cross another thing off our wedding to-do list but we are in prime planning time people so I expect things to be a little crazy from here on out until the wedding!

I am excited for the months to come! Lots of exciting things ahead so it should be a very fun time!

The shrimp pad thai looks amazing! You are absolutely right about it being about the life together and not the day itself – although I hope that the day is also AMAZING!

Congratulations and best of luck! Love the blog!

So glad that you are remembering that the wedding is just one day and the marriage is the important part. So many people seem to forget that and it really bothers me sometimes.
