Today I put to good use my new favorite kitchen toy –
And decided to make applesauce baked donuts!
I have made this recipe before on the blog and posted it 2 years ago (almost to the day!) – It was a bit hit before and is just as big of a hit now so I wanted to make them again and share with new readers!
Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine applesauce, egg whites, oils and sugars. After that is mixed together add flour, baking powder, baking soda, vanilla and cinnamon.
I then piled everything into my donut pans because attempting to craft donuts into circles from this recipe hasn’t turned out so well for me in the past, and let’s face it, presentation and appearance matters!
I heart my donut pans.
Baked in the oven at 425* for about 10 minutes or until top is golden.
And out they come all pretty looking and donut-like!
They slid easily out of the pans and I flipped them over and they look even more magical!
I have made them before with bananas and they turned out just as amazing, but this time Charles requested apples and cinnamon so I was happy to oblige (Am I not an awesome wife-in-training?)
Did I mention they smelled amazing too?! Apple(sauce) + cinnamon in my kitchen = incredible!
Topped with a smidgen of icing (Oh No She Didn’t!) and these donuts are pretty much pure perfection!
I think the next one I will top with some chocolate icing…yum!
Now my only problem is portion control!
Are you drooling on your screen yet? What is your favorite baked good of all time to make?
