Alex & Chrissy Tie the Knot

This weekend, Charles and I traveled to Delaware to see Alex & Chrissy tie the knot! It was so fun to think that this is the last wedding we will attend together before we are a married couple!

I got all decked out for the occasion! Luckily the weather cooperated and was simply beautiful this weekend! I wore this blue dress by Laundry – I love the V neckline and the halter back!

The wedding ceremony was at a little church in Hockessin, De – just outside of Wilmington. The reception was held at the Hotel Du Pont which I had heard amazing things about – it did not disappoint!

Charles and I were ready to eat, drink and dance the night away!

It was amazing how every little detail I looked at and then thought about what that specific thing will look like at OUR wedding in just 3 short weeks. I feel I have a whole new perspective on weddings and wedding planning after the past 18 months!

Let me just also say, that when the wedding cake has 6 tiers, you know it’s going to be a fabulous night!

I was loving the groom’s cake displayed at the reception as well! Alex enjoys boxing so the cake was very appropriate!

Did I mention the place was packed? I think this reception held about 260 people – it was the biggest wedding I have been to yet!

There was a fabulous live band, which was so fun to listen too!

Some first dance fun:

I love Love!

And then it was time to eat – first course:

Champagne for the toast

Charles’ cocktail of choice for the evening (Johnny Walker on the rocks)

The main course duet – crab cakes and beef

I traded my beef for Charles’ crab cake so I got 2! Win!

Then it was time to dance and enjoy the rest of the evening!

Before I knew it, it was time for my favorite part of attending any wedding – the Cake! There was a little surprise and along with traditional wedding cake, the servers brought out flaming baked Alaska!

I was excited about it (and so was Spicer next to me!)

But after eating some of the baked Alaska, I knew I wouldn’t be satisfied without some legit wedding cake – so I tracked some down and enjoyed dessert #2!

The rest of the evening consisted of enjoying my go-to cocktail (vodka and sparkling water with a slice of lemon)

And enjoying ourselves!

Towards the end of the night, things got a little fuzzy, but that’s when you know you had a blast!

And what wedding is complete without some wedding cake to-go!

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend filled with cake, kisses, cocktails and lots of laughter!
