If you guessed that our final destination on our honeymoon travels was Santorini – you were right!
After a quick trip in the morning to Crete, we boarded our cruise ship and set sail to the beautiful Greek Island of Santorini.
Charles and I hung out on the top deck of the ship and enjoyed the sunshine and scenery until it was our time for our tender boat off the ship.
I am obsessed with the little white houses lining the top of the cliffs. Love the view from the boat!
Our cruise ship was scheduled to stay in Santorini for only an afternoon, but Charles and I wanted to extend our visit there so we disembarked the cruise ship early to spend an extra 4 days on the beautiful island.
Cocktails on the ship before arriving in Santorini? Yes, please!
Seriously, how gorgeous does it look?
Showing off our new hardware.
I was literally jumping up and down – so excited to get to Santorini – It was the part of the trip I was most looking forward too!
And before I knew it we were on our way to land!
Land a’hoy!
I was excited to see how we were going to get up this cliff!
Do you see the twisty, curvy road there?
Other ways to get up to the top of the island include donkey rides and a ski lift of sorts, but we were scheduled to go up the old fashioned way – by car!
I will be honest, it was a little scary. The drivers go super fast and the roads and teeny tiny with sharp turns.
But before I knew it – we arrived at our hotel and I was in heaven.
Our hotel was nothing short of amazing.
We were greeted with both an amazing view and a gorgeous pool deck.
We started celebrating our arrival with cocktails!
And hummus!
Santorini is essentially what remains after an enormous volcanic explosion that destroyed the earliest settlements on what was formerly a single island, and created the current geological caldera – which is a giant central lagoon surrounded by high steep cliffs on three sides.
Our hotel room came with a gorgeous view of the caldera.
As well as incredible views of the sunset.
This part of the trip was all about relaxing – and that is just what we were planning to do for the next 4 days!
Check out our balcony view:
If this picture was in focus it would be totally cute!
We got to watch our cruise ship pass through the caldera as the sun set in the sky – I was so happy we decided to extend our time here – I couldn’t wait to see what else Santorini had to offer, because I was already in love!
In our room we were greeted with some Metaxa – a Greek aged brandy and some crisps.
Cheers to the start of our time in Santorini!

OMG!!! We stayed in the same place!!!! It was AMAZING!
Santorini – Oia was our favorite place visited a few years back on a tour of the Greek Isles. Its natural beauty is breathtaking and this is a great final place for your honeymoon! I posted a recipe inspired by our trip to Greece yesterday for fig & goat’s milk yogurt parfaits… a little bit of Greece in the US. 🙂
Ahhh Santorini. My husband and I went there on our honeymoon at the end of May and it was the most beautiful place I had ever seen. I actually long and ache for Santorini. We stayed in Imerovigli, where did you stay?
I hope you ate at my favorite restaurant, La Maison, because I want to see pictures!
Oh my gosh! Just when I thought this honeymoon couldn’t get any better! Amazing!
Breathtaking, just breathtaking! Your hotel view is awesome, I would just sit on my balcony all day and stare at the beautiful scenery!
