Tonight the new Association for Public Art (aPA) project titled “Open Air” will hit the skies of Philadelphia.I have been seeing these amazing spotlights out my window all week, not sure exactly what they were, but now I know – Tonight will be the world premier of the interactive public art project specifically created for Philly and I can’t wait to check it out!
What is “Open Air” do you ask? By using a free custom-made phone app, people can use their voices and GPS positions to activate 24 powerful robotic searchlights placed along a half-mile section of the Ben Franklin Parkway — creating enormous three-dimensional light formations in the night sky.
Here is a little preview of some of the lights I have spotted this week –
“Open Air” will run every night from September 20 to October 14 from 8-11 p.m.
I will using Instagram (@herlittledogtoo) & Twitter to post live the beautiful lights! Check it out!
