Happy Friday! Sorry this post is going up a little later than normal, I had a few technical difficulties this morning! But I did think it would be fun to bring back my Friday Favorite posts – what do you think? I love blogging my Friday Favorites & I hope you enjoy reading them!
For this week’s favorites, I wanted to share with you my favorite workout books & DVD’s
With it being the new year and most people have resolutions to hit the gym a little more I wanted to share with you what I use for extra motivation when I can’t get to the gym or I just want to switch up my workouts.
First up is the KettleWorx program – this was sent to me to review on the blog. I really enjoy the videos since they all incorporate the kettlebell, which is a great tool for getting your sweat on. I have the Kettleworx Ultra 10 DVD set and it comes with a ton of different workout options & each DVD focuses on a different body area to really get moving – it’s a great workout for sure!
The Shape up with Karina Smirnoff DVD was sent to me as well, this is just something that is a really different workout from everything I usually do. When I want to dance around, get my heart rate pumping & have some fun, this is the DVD I watch – because, let’s be honest, who doesn’t want Karina Smirnoff’s body??
I also love my Wii Fit – its not something I do for a real workout but its definitely something different & fun to play around with. I always laugh when you get on the “scale” at the beginning of the program – it always makes an “OOooohh” sound, likes its mocking me. I hate it, but I love it too.
I have shared with you my love for all things Jillian Michaels before. Her screaming at me from the television screen just gets me moving! I love it! I am a big fan of her 30 Day Shred as well as her 6 Week Six-Pack
programs. Both are booty kicking awesome!
It’s no secret that I am a big fan of the Biggest Loser and The Biggest Loser Power Sculpt is another awesome DVD that I love. Yes, it has my girl Jillian Michaels but also has workouts with Bob Harper & Kim Lyons – I really love the variety of workouts offered within the DVD.
Now, onto the books! I am obsessed with The Women’s Health Big Book of Exercises its such a great & informative read. I have blogged about this amazing book on the blog before and I just can’t get enough of it.
It has everything you need listing out specific workouts for specific things – I used The Wedding Workout as a part of my bridal bootcamp!
The best 15 minute workout is another great thing to use when you are crunched for time & need to get a little sweat session in!
The book breaks down workouts by different body part focuses. I love the Glute & Hamstrings as well as the Core workout options the most!
The book also really breaks out the moves & gives you a really details look into what each move should look like as well as examples of proper form.
Finally, I also wanted to share my love for 2 other Jillian Michaels books – sense a theme??
Making the Cut and Master Your Metabolism
aren’t really workout heavy books, but they are both jam packed full with great information. Both are really great reads.
So there you have it, some of my favorite workout books & DVD’s – a little Jillian Michaels heavy at times, but hey, I find her interesting!

I love anything that The Firm puts out. They are awesome. I am in the middle of their Express series right now, which reminds me of 30 Day Shred.
Awesome Meagan, thanks for the tip! I will have to check it out!
Thanks for all the informative ways to get your sweat on – truly something for everybody!
