Best Soup Dumplings in Philadelphia

If you have never had soup dumplings before, you definitely need to add them to your must-try list. I had my first soup dumpling experience in Shanghai, so it was a very authentic one but it quickly became one of my favorite things to eat! When we came back from our China trip, I immediately went on the search to find the best soup dumplings in Philadelphia – luckily, I didn’t have to look very far.

Dim Sum Garden, located on 11th & Arch in Center City Philadelphia serves up authentic Shanghai-style soup dumplings. I was so pumped to so easily find a tasty meal I enjoyed on the other side of the world being recreated so well right at home in Philadelphia. Soup Dumplings are steamed buns, filled with soup and various meat options {mainly pork} . They are served in bamboo baskets and offer a little taste of Shanghai with every bite.

Dim Sum Garden is a little hole in the wall located under the bus overpass in the Market East neighborhood of Philadelphia. If the online reviews didn’t praise the soup dumplings served here, I would have never, ever given the place a second look – but I am so glad I did. My two favorite items on the menu are the Shanghai Pan Fried Pork Juice Buns  and the Shanghai Crabmeat & Pork Juicy Buns {both shown above} – they are so tasty, delicious and really fun to eat! If you are in the neighborhood, definitely try them out and let me know what you think – my sister & I shared the two plates & it was the perfect amount for lunch, at for around $11 it was a great deal too!
