“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for RadioShack. I received a gift card to facilitate a shopping trip and promotional item as a thank you for participating.”
I know I shared with you a few weeks ago my favorite RadioShack Holiday Gift Picks. Since then, I was invited to participate in a second campaign working with The Shack, where I got to check out a new store location, see first-hand their in-store experience and pick out a little holiday treat too.
It was a ton of fun for my “blog job” to go check out a newly renovated RadioShack store – throw in a gift card & some holiday shopping and I was good to go! It was really cool to see for myself the new RadioShack concept store, while also doing some holiday shopping at the same time. I had recently been to an updated RadioShack a few weeks ago so it was nice to compare all the changes of the stores new looks – the updated interior looks great as does the fantastic inventory selection too!
While I may have picked up a gift or two during my shopping excursion, I won’t be sharing that on the blog to ruin any surprises on Christmas day – BUT I did also manage to pick up a nice little holiday treat for myself. This couldn’t have come at a more perfect time because I was recently in the market for a new point and shoot – I have been a huge fan of the Canon Powershot camera’s forever, I literally buy a new one every time it’s time for a new camera – I love them. So when I saw the new Canon Power Shot A2500 on sale, I knew it was the perfect gift to treat myself!
I can’t wait to use it to capture the special moments of this Holiday season as well as the soon to be new arrival of our little man, who should be making an appearance sometime in the next few weeks!
A little more information about the store updates – By the end of 2013, RadioShack will have more than 100 concept and brand statement stores open and will also have made improvements to nearly all 4,300 stores throughout the United States. I think the timing for all this couldn’t have been more perfect as holiday shoppers, out looking for the perfect present, will be among the first to experience the new updates. As of so far this year, close to 2,000 stores have completed a “reset” with new paint and interior signage, updating to current brand standards. These stores, like the one I was able to check out in Philadelphia, feature bright, completely redesigned interiors and new exterior signage featuring the new RadioShack logo. All stores have also recently completed a merchandise update designed to deliver a better shopping experience and make room for new products in growing categories.
Are you an online or in-store shopper? Do you finish your Holiday shopping early or wait for the last minute rush?
