I have been a lover of indoor cycling for a long while now.
In 2013 I really hit my indoor cycling stride when two new Flywheel locations came to the Philadelphia area. I was never much of a spinner before but I quickly became obsessed – even with my growing bump, I still found myself always hitting up a indoor cycling class throughout my first and second trimesters.
Since giving birth I have been counting down the days until I am “cleared” to exercise again – I have an appointment with my OB next week and hopefully after that I will be free to get back into my regular routine again – and you can bet that one of the first things I will be doing will be hitting up a Flywheel indoor cycling class!
10 days postpartum
For me, I really tried to keep up my fitness throughout my pregnancy – I truly believe that was a major factor in helping me survive 25 hours of labor, including 3 hours of pushing {yikes}. I also believe it has been a huge factor in me being able to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight post labor. I seriously can’t wait for the weather to get a little warmer so I can get back to getting my sweat on and working on those last 5-8 post baby pounds!
Aside from the amazing calorie burn, I love Flywheel because it’s a great way to set and achieve your goals for getting in shape. Flywheel’s performance tracking technology let’s you decide what’s right for you – in each class the instructor suggests target resistance levels and RPM’s, but if you’re feeling pumped, ride harder and faster than the targets – and if you’re just beginning, you can take it down a notch.
Another thing I love is that each Flywheel bike is tailor-made and can be customized for each rider. Not only do you set the positions that fit your body and comfort levels, but you control your “tech-pack”- that displays your resistance (“torq”), your speed (RPM’s) and your power output (current and cumulative for the class). This allows you to know how you’re performing at all times. My favorite part of the Flywheel bike is that being the competitive type, I always opt in to participate in the in-studio Torqboards – that display which male & female is dominating the class. {feel free to read more about these features in my previous Flywheel post!}
For each Flywheel ride, my stats are recorded and made available in a private account on the Flywheel website. It’s an awesome way to keep track of my metrics for each ride – including RPM’s, Torq, Speed, Power, Distance and Estimated Calories. I love seeing how I improve over time and setting goals to crush for each and every class!
In order to help you reach your fitness goals the lovely folks at Flywheel are offering up a free 10 ride card {a $225 value!} to one lucky And Her Little Dog Too reader {only applicable to the Philadelphia studios – in Center City/Bryn Mawr}

I got married last year and kind of put my health and fitness on the back burner. My goals are to get back in shape and paying better attention to nutrition.
My goals are staying as active as possible while having a busy schedule. I like to mix it up with garden and yoga in addition to hitting the gym and walking. Flywheel would be the perfect addition and I’ve been wanting to try it !
My goals are to continue being as active as possible (I LOVE Flywheel!) and complete the Broad Street Run for the first time!
You look great! Love spin as well.
I’d love a 10-class pass so that I can keep up my cross-training for the Paris Marathon and maybe hit that 2014 goal of a new marathon PR.
I want to PR my marathon by a bit more!
Ah I would love to win this! I live 5 minutes from the Bryn Mawr studio and have only ever taken their free intro class 🙂 My fitness goal for the new year has been to incorporate yoga into my workouts 2 times a week!
I have two half marathons this spring so my goal is to get back into half marathon shape and hopefully PR at one!
This would really motivate me to get back into Spinning!
I am due with my first baby in 5 weeks and am already setting my goals for post-pregnancy! I love spinning and know it will be great after the baby comes and hope to run a half in the fall – after a few 5Ks in the summer. I want to be a good example of health and fitness for when the baby grows up!
I want to fall in love with working out and develop new habits for a healthier lifestyle.
I love flywheel! It’s the perfect way to get in shape in preparation for the summer without having to be outside in bad weather! (And there has been a lot of terrible weather…)
I’ve been wanting to try spin for.ev.er and this would be the perfect opportunity! My goal for this year is to stay injury free while working on PRing in the half and full marathon distances… but to also try new things – like spin!
My fitness goals primarily consist of staying active to combat all the negative effects of having a desk job! As for specific goals: I want to run a half marathon (the furthest I have run yet is a 5k) and get stronger. I also want to try new Philly classes/meet fellow fitness nerds in Philly since I just moved here recently 🙂
I’m hoping to spice it up and add in some workouts beyond running and pilates.
Initially my fitness goal for 2014 was to improve my times in upcoming races (Broad Street being the primary focus), and that still is a goal, but I’m now also focused on getting my indoor cycle teaching certification and getting 3-4 classes to teach weekly. I’ve done FlyWheel a couple times and love their set up!
My goals for 2014 including PRing my olympic lifts and power lifts as well as running a few half marathons and distance runs. This year I’m going to focus mostly on strength and better technique and to just get strong as hell!
FlyWheel is such a huge part of my fitness routine though, especially throughout this dreadful winter when running outdoors isn’t very alluring. It helps give me a nice cardio burn and keep me in shape enough so that when it gets nicer out again I have a little bit of a base to start running more!
My main fitness goal is to maintain a reasonable workout schedule that I can stick to. I spent most of last year losing weight and getting to the place I wanted to be. I’ve tapered back the frequency of workouts recently based on work, and need to find a schedule that will allow me to keep the progress I’ve made but also not keep me in the gym at all hours.
My other fitness goal, and the reason I’m commenting, is I want to try NEW THINGS. I signed up for Broad St. after never running a competitive race. I’ve committed to going rock climbing twice this spring. And I would LOVE to try Flywheel, a few friends go regularly and love love love it. Sounds awesome!
I LOVE Flywheel this would be amazing!!! I hope to run a 5K this year 🙂
Haha my only goal right now is walk again, but hopefully after my ankle stops being broken I can get back to riding and running.
I am getting married in a couple months and since meeting my husband, I have indulged in dining out and slacking off way too much. I’m really trying to get back into shape and feel more confidence again. I am also signed up for the NYC Marathon later this year and dropping a few lbs before training will help!
My current fitness goal is to find ways to stay in shape while relying less on running
This looks awesome! One location is near my house, the other is near my work! My goal this year is to get pregnant again and to have a healthy, exercise-filled pregnancy. Sounds like FlyWheel would help with that!
What a great giveaway – I was just looking for spinning classes in Philly today! My goal this year is to continue to push myself with fitness and to try new things so that I feel strong and well balanced. My wedding this spring is extra motivation.
My fitness goal is to start trying new types of exercise when the warmer spring weather appears. Flywheel definitely fits the bill!
My main fitness goal is just to keep up with my fitness without any lulls! I tend to go in a downhill spiral once I miss gym days and I have been working on that this year!
My fitness goals include getting in shape and training for the Broad Street Run! Flywheel is the best cross training workout!
Wow!! So cool-I love spinning!!!
I have never been to Flywheel but I love spinning! Plus I still need to drop these 12 pounds leftover from the twins. Help!!
I’m hoping to run a sub 4 hour marathon this year! And I absolutely love spinning for cross training!!!
These would totally help with my marathon training! I’d love to give them a try.
I want to run a sub-2:00 half marathon this year and PR in the marathon!!
I will run a sub 4:00 marathon!
My 2014 goal is to attempt a half ironman – meaning I need to get back on my bike! I’ve gone to a few flywheel classes and felt so motivated to ride afterward. Great giveaway!
This would be so great. I do a lot of strength training at home so my goal is to up the cardio!
My fitness goals this year are to run a sub-4 hour marathon at my (first!) marathon in March, maintain my running fitness post-marathon, and start training for a very hilly half sometime this summer!
I am pregnant (due in Sept), and spin is one of the only workouts that feels really good right now! I’d love to keep it up as long as possible this year!
My fitness goal is to hit the gym 6 days a week and get back into shape for summer! Dreaming of beach days while we suffer through this snowy winter!
Over the past five years, I’ve gained weight that has been so hard to come off. I’ve lost about 20 pounds of it, but I have about 50 more to go! I hope to lose it before my birthday in July. I’d love to use Flywheel to help me reach my goal this year!
I just tried my first FlyWheel class on Monday! I’m going back for more on Sunday. For 2014 I’d love to get a better foundation level of fitness by working out more consistently and cross training. My first love is outdoor running, but this winter taught me that I need a reliable backup. Spinning looks like it could work!
I love Flywheel!
To work out at least 3 times a week!
My fitness goal for this year is to expand my workout routine. It has almost become second nature to just go out for a 3 mile run or hop on an elliptical. I would really like to mix up my workout routines with things like yoga, spinning, and polymetrics!
Would love to be more consistent!
My 2014 goals include getting back into a good running rhythm and hopefully breaking the much anticipated 4:00 mark for my marathon time. I’ve been close in the past, but perhaps it will finally happen in San Fran in July, or Philly in November. Furthermore, to keep up the training and do well during my rookie year of triathlon training with a half IM in June. So basically, eat, train, sleep, repeat.
I want to get back to running after a couple months off from injury and continue cross and strength training while training ramps up!
My main fitness goal is to continue to be active by mixing it up so I don’t get bored. I love spin, and would LOVE these classes as an added bonus 🙂
You’ll feel so much better and have more energy once you get back into an exercise routine!
I don’t exercise and I really want to get in shape this year. My friends like Flywheel so this would be an awesome way to get started.
My goal this year is to run a sub 2 hour half marathon. Classes to FlyWheel would be a great cross training activity.
I just had my second baby two weeks ago and am excited to start training for the broad street run (my fourth) and my second marathon in the fall. Spinning is one of my favorite workouts for no run days and I love flywheel!
