MorningWin

As a new mom to an infant, one of the hardest things I’ve experienced since coming home from the hospital {aside from breastfeeding the first 5 weeks} has been feeding myself. It’s crazy to say but finding the time to actually make myself a meal has been really tough. For the first two weeks with the baby, Charles was home and since I was having a rough time getting in the breastfeeding groove, he was in charge of making sure I was eating. Then my mom came to stay with us for two weeks and she made the most amazing meals every night for both of us.

Since then, I’ve been pretty much on my own during the day as a stay at home mom. And while Brooks has been an amazing baby, it’s still been tough to always find the time to make healthy meals in between feeding him and keeping him happy. Since I am still exclusively breastfeeding Brooks, making sure that I am eating right is really important to ensure I don’t have any issues with my milk supply. Breastfeeding makes me crazy hungry, all the time so having healthy  options around the house has been key to making sure I’m not surviving on chocolate & coffee {as awesome as that may sound.}

Oikos

I have recently been starting my morning with belVita Breakfast Biscuits and Dannon ® Oikos ®* Greek Nonfat Yogurt – it’s been a quick and convenient breakfast option that is also delicious. Dannon Oikos ** offers 12 grams of protein and belVita provides nutritious steady energy not to mention its a  very tasty pairing – I personally love dunking the breakfast biscuits into the yogurt, so yummy to combine the two.

Aside from the Dannon Oikos flavors {and the hot spokesperson – hellooooo John Stamos!} alongside with the yummy belVita biscuits, both breakfast treats do an awesome job of satisfying my hunger. I also almost always keep a package of the belVita biscuits in my diaper bag, for whenever I need a snack on the go.

Laura Stack, The Productivity Pro, has joined the #morningwin initiative to provide tips on how you can get the most out of your morning. Here are a few of her best tips:

  • The secret to a smooth, sane morning is doing as much as you can the night before. Leave as little preparation as possible until the last minute – you’ll thank yourself in the morning.
  • Spend twenty minutes at the end of each day planning your to-do list. When you download the next day’s activities beforehand, you can devote your morning to enjoyment rather than stress.
  • Be sure to start your morning with a delicious, balanced breakfast. Together, the nutritious steady energy of belVita and 12 grams of protein in Dannon Oikos Greek nonfat yogurt** along with a piece of fruit will help you get more out of your morning.

    I love Belvita Biscuits and Oikos Greek Yogurt. I eat the yogurt for breakfast and the Belvita Biscuits at lunch. Yummy!

    I’m not the hugest fan of BelVitas for myself, but I always carry a pack for my son just in case. He loves his “cookies” and they are really convenient to carry around. He’s 2 now but has been snacking on them for at least 6 months if not a year.
