Today is all about Playtex Baby!
As a breastfeeding mom, I initially struggled with when would be the right time to introduce a bottle to my little man. I started pumping 3-4 weeks after Brooks was born and shortly thereafter we decided it would be a good idea to get him used to taking a bottle every once in a while. Charles & I started a nightly routine of Charles feeding Brooks before bed every night {with a bottle of pumped milk} – it was a nice way for the two of them to bond & spend more time together & it was a nice break for me {and my boobs!}
When I was registering for my baby showers I added a few different bottles to my list, not knowing much about any of them & really not putting to much thought into my choices. This turned out to be a bit of a problem when we first started Brooks on a bottle – we found out quick that the right nipple {and bottle!} really mattered – and each baby has their own preference for what works for them in terms of flow & shape.
So I was so excited {and it was perfect timing!} when I was given the opportunity to try out some new Playtex Baby products & share my experience with them on the blog!
The wonderful folks at Playtex Baby sent me a few different products for Brooks to try out –
These bottles and nipples came at the most perfect time because we were struggling a bit with finding the right bottle & nipple match for Brooks. Other bottles would allow the milk to come out super fast & Brooks wouldn’t know what to do or be able to handle it. So finding the right {slow} flow was on the top of our list – and these seemed to do the trick!
The Nurser is a bottle that is extra special to me because it’s what my mom said she used when I was a little baby! How fun is that?! 30 years ago & this bottle is still going strong – only now it is new and improved! The Nurser is great because it uses disposable drop in liners, which are great for traveling or moms on the go as they make the bottle super easy to clean. The soft liner is important because as baby feeds, you can see it gently collapsing to prevent air from mixing with milk and getting into baby’s tummy. This means less gas and less discomfort for baby. It also features an adjustable bottle angle to promote a semi-upright feeding position.
Reducing air intake to prevent Brooks from having any tummy issues is very important to us and was a key factor for us in picking out bottles. The other bottle we got to try out, the VentAire, was made to reduce colic through a bottom venting system that helps reduce air ingestion. This bottle also features a semi-upright feeding position, which is recommended by pediatricians to help prevent ear infections.
Along with two great new bottles, I was so excited about the slow & medium flow nipple variety pack I can’t even tell you how much! Since Brooks is exclusively breastfed, except for a {breast milk} bottle a few times a week, it has been a bit of a challenge to find a nipple that he really feels comfortable with. This variety pack is great because it allows you the freedom to give baby a few different options – it helps you skip the trial and error process since these four BPA-free nipples come in different shapes and sizes to match baby’s unique preferences, and they easily fit in any Playtex bottle.
We couldn’t be happier with the new Playtex Baby products Brooks was able to try out. A good bottle that baby is happy with makes feeding so much easier, which makes MY life so much better!
Thanks so much to everyone at Playtex & BabyCenter for this wonderful opportunity – now it’s time for a giveaway!

I would love to try a new bottle
Wow these looks awesome. Never heard much about them til your blog post. My LO is breastmilk only too and I have to pump so he has something to eat while I’m at work. We use dr. Browns but he’s been able to take different types of bottles. He might like these, especially with the assorted nipples
I’m in my second trimester and just starting to think about all the gear I’ll need for my little one. Having a variety to choose from sounds amazing. Thanks for the review and ideas!
I’m going back to work after my maternity leave ends in a week and a half and I’d love to have more bottles to try with my son Ben.
My sister uses these bottles! I tried the Medela bottles right away but the nipples were not ‘slow’ enough. We have been using the Avent Natural bottles for about 7 weeks but recently she isn’t taking them quite as easily so I would love to try something new! Great review.
I have used these bottles and they are great- such a time saver (and sanitary). Having more on hand would be wonderful!
Ingrid will be here soon and I would love to try out the different types Playtex has. Both my sister and my sister-in-law used this brand and were extremely happy with it so maybe my daughter will like this bottle as well.
as a new mom to an almost 3 week old, we need to start introducing a bottle soon. this would be perfect!

Very helpful review. I love the variety pack! So useful!
Love the playtex brand!
I used this product 30 years ago and loved it then! The idea of the disposable inserts are so sanitary and so good for the baby not to take in any air – which definitely helps with colic issues!
Hoping to have a 2nd baby soon and would love these!
Would love these for a sweet friend expecting her first!
I’d like to see if our little guy might like these!
