I am big into runner safety – especially in the city.
Running outdoors, in any urban or suburban environment, can create a whole world of hazards—from crazy drivers, to unpredictable bikers and dog walkers. It’s often impossible to hear when a potential danger is in your path while enjoying your favorite playlist on a typical set of headphones – Add in a running stroller and it’s a whole new world!
Even when I am on a path where I won’t have to deal with cars, like Kelly Drive in the city, I usually run with one headphone in and one out so I can make sure I’m aware of any bikers passing by or any other obstacles that come along my way. I also like to make sure I can keep an ear out for my little man when we are running together to make sure he’s happy too – these headphones let me do that while still being able to jam out to my favorite tunes.
I recently participated in the Panasonic #OpenYourEars challenge in which I was able to put the Panasonic Wired Open Ear Headphones to the test. The word on the street is that with these headphones, you can stay focused and fearless without having to worry about missing any warning sounds! Since being given the opportunity to test out the Wired Open Ear Headphones, I can honestly say that my ears have been opened.
These bad boys transmit sound vibrations through the upper cheek bones of the face to the cochlea of the inner ear {fancy talk, I know!}, allowing a user to listen to music while still paying attention to outside sounds—like the beep of a car horn. Horns, traffic and other sounds are not blocked because the headphones don’t cover your ears. They are also designed with soft, cushioning material – which are comfortable to wear & stay in your ears while bouncing up and down on your run! AND the sides and back feature reflective strips for greater visibility and safety in low light and at night – that’s my favorite part!
I really love these headphones because they help improve your safety {and the safety of those around you!} along with helping you be fearless on your run -> because you can hear what’s going on around you AND your motivating music!I have worn them while on runs and out and about taking Brooks & Jackson for a stroll. They are super comfortable and light. They give great sound, the music is very clear and easy to hear – they don’t bounce around either.
Side Note: They are also sweat/water resistant!
Side Side Note: Taking a selfie from the side is all sorts of awkward.
Panasonic also surprised me with some other running safety essentials {photo below!}that included {along with the headphones!}: Fuel Belt, BodyGlide, Sunscreen Stick, Gu Gel, Under Armour Reflective Headband, Light Up Arm Band for Night Running Safety all in a cool Lands End Bag {which will be awesome for Brooks for traveling!}
BUT the fun doesn’t stop there ->
Now it’s your turn to get the chance to #OpenYourEars – The wonderful folks at Panasonic have offered up a pair of Wired Open Ear Headphones along with the same Runner Safety Essentials swag bag I receved! Woohoo! Perfect for you, if you are a runner, or any runner in your life {Christmas is coming!}
