Urbini Avi Jogger Travel System Review

“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Urbini. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and as a thank you for participating.”

I am in stroller & carseat heaven ever since the mailman brought these two little beauties to my door.

The Urbini Avi Jogger Travel System.

Swoon.

Nice looking stroller, wouldn’t you agree?

But let’s be honest, Brooks makes the stroller look even more amazing. Duh.

HAPPY BABYFROM THE TOP

Being able to test out baby products with my little one for review on the blog is always so much fun. I was so excited to be able to take this stroller & carseat by Urbini for a whirl!

A little bit about the jogger: The Avi is an all-terrain jogger that is built for smooth rides whether you are on a run, power-walk, or casual stroll. The Avi Jogger includes a responsive suspension, swivel-lock front wheel, and multi-position handle that offer stability, control, and maneuverability. It also includes a single touch brake, on hand quick-fold, and maneuverable wheels that make for great functionality for when you need it most.

I love the size and the maneuverability of this stroller. It’s not as wide as other jogging strollers out there, which makes it much easier to use when you are going in and out of stores – those few inches make a big difference in going through doorways! But this is a jogging stroller and I’m happy to report that the suspension system works great, especially on the bumpy sidewalks of Philadelphia. The one thing I didn’t love was that on the inside of the stroller there was some exposed parts of the stroller that I think should have been covered with some padding. Brooks fell asleep easily in this stroller and a few times his head was resting on hard parts of the stroller – I think it bothered him more than me!

A few other things that make the Avi jogger stand out is all the extras! It comes standard with some things you totally would have to add on with extra purchases in other brands. I love the fact that a caddy with three pouches is built into the back of the stroller – it easily holds keys, your phone and snacks. The Avi also comes with a bar that goes across the front of the seat which I love to attach toys too and Brooks enjoyed holding on and kicking his feet up on as well. It also comes with a cup holder that attaches to the side of the stroller as well. I was also very impressed with all the storage under the stroller as well – it’s very spacious!

Other Avi Jogger features:

  • Multi-position handle
  • Self stands when folded
  • Inflatable rubber tires
  • 5-point harness
  • 2-position canopy with peek-a-boo window
  • Safety Wrist Strap

As a part of the travel system we also got to try out the infant carseat which came along with it. I love the sleek black and grey solar scheme – It also looks really nice, I enjoyed the overall shape of the carseat. Another important thing is that it’s very lightweight – and even though Brooks won’t be in the infant carseat much longer, it’s still nice to not have to carry around extra bulk!

The one thing I didn’t love about this is the canopy, I wished it covered a little more sunlight from the front. Brooks has taken some awesome naps in this & I think he would have slept longer had he had a little less sun exposure.

A little more about the carseat: The rear-facing Petal Infant car seat combines safety with super lightweight design. The deep sidewalls are lined with energy-absorbing foam and the carrier weighs less than 8 lbs. The adjustable harness with comfort pads grows with your baby to keep infants from 4 – 35lbs. snug and secure. The adjustable base includes a built-in lock off that makes installation a breeze. Urbini products are sold exclusively at Walmart stores and online.

Another fun little perk is that the carseat does attach into the stroller, which is awesome if you are a new mom running with a little guy {or gal!} who still needs extra support, it’s nice that everything is already right there for you to click and go!

I’ve had a really great experience testing out the Urbini stroller & carseat. I was 100% new to the brand but the products that I got to try are well made and Brooks seemed to really enjoy his time in each piece. Since we now have 2 jogging strollers, I will likely be giving the extra stroller to my parents to have one at their house – but I honestly love them both so much, It’s going to be tough to decide which!

I know I’m nitpicky, but the chest clip in the car seat should be much higher on his chest.

Thanks so much for the heads up Krista! I’ll be fixing it ASAP!

I noticed the same thing about the chest clip- it should always be at armpit level. And it’s difficult to tell in the pic but the shoulder straps should be at or below the shoulder in a rear facing seat, never above shoulder level (not until front facing). Sorry I know you didn’t ask for advice on this, but someone once showed me the proper way to buckle my babe in (who is only one day older than brooks 🙂 when I didn’t have it exactly right and I’m so glad they did. love your blog!

Thanks for the review! Is there any way to latch the car seat INTO the jogger?

    • Reply Leslie November 11, 2014 at 6:34 am

Yes there is Frances! I just forgot to take pictures of it! It’s pretty easy to click right in!

Hi there! Great review. I just got this stroller. It’s very nice but I have not been able to inflate the small front tire with the bike pump I have. What kind did you use?

    Thanks!

my question is, is the jogging stroller compatible with any other car seats out there? I have a britax b safe car seat.

Can you purchase the car seat and stroller seperate or does it have to be sold in a travel system? Thanks

    • Reply Leslie April 22, 2015 at 2:10 pm

      Morgan,
I believe you can purchase them separate! Thanks!

Thanks for the honest review! It has been so difficult for me to find a review with pro’s and con’s! I found the brand while doing so on line searching for a jogging system. I’m glad you mentioned the exposed hardware because I hadn’t noticed!
