Bumbo Multi Seat Review & Giveaway

While I was away in Chile last week I got an email asking if Brooks wanted to try out the new Bumbo Multi Seat which just came out. I was immediately interested because I had friends that had the original Bumbo floor seat {which you have to buy the extra tray for} and when Brooks was learning to sit up on his own, I even borrowed one for Brooks when he was about 5 months old.

I never bought a Bumbo  because I figured it was one of those things that you get for a baby that you use for such a short period of time and then end up having to store –  it’s not a small piece and storage is a precious thing living in the city! The one we borrowed we used for about a month or so, but then I returned it to my friend. So I was intrigued by the multi seat having a longer lifespan for Brooks to be able to use.

So here’s the deal with the  Bumbo Multi Seat – it’s a 3-in-1 seat that functions as a floor, booster and feeding seat. The company says your little one can start using it when your child is able to sit up unaided, around 5 months old and is made for kids to use until around 3 years old {or 33 pounds}.

It then has a built in tray that can attach for mealtime {or playtime} and the foam pad is removable so the seat eventually turns into a booster seat for older children.

The seat has a unique height adjustment feature in which the base adjusts to accommodate children at different stages. My favorite part about it is that everything you need for it’s multiple uses is built into the seat. You don’t need to buy an extra tray or straps or anything. Everything is built right into the seat – the tray, straps and pad store inside the base, which I think is genius and makes life so much easier. I love the fact that the tray stores in the back of the seat and easily pops on and off when you want to use or clean it.

The seat includes a 3-point harness, which Brooks put to the test! He was unable to escape, so that’s a good sign. The adjustable straps attach to most standard four-legged chairs – I love that the straps are hidden inside the chair – it makes this so easy to take to the grandparents house or the beach and use as a highchair when you a traveling locally.

Brooks has enjoyed using this seat for mealtime and he seems content sitting and playing with a toy and being on the same level as us at the table. As you can see, we don’t have the best chairs for a booster seat with a toddler {white cloth chairs = no good} so I have only been putting him up here during snack time with some non-messy eats – but he really does seem to like the seat. The past few days we’ve had the seat on the floor and he’s been going to it to sit in it too, which is cute.

We’ve only been using the new Bumbo for a few days, but I really like it and Brooks does too. I think it’s something we will use a lot, especially in the summer going back and forth to the beach. I think it will be very handy to be able to toss in the car and then attach to any chair.

And did I mention, it’s super easy to clean. You just wash & wipe and you are good to go. Love that.
