Sorry for the late post today – little man took a 3 hour nap {win!} 1 hour of which was in the crib, the other two hours were on me. Nap time is usually when I get my lunch, blog work & a million other things done so apologies for the delay! The good news is, I’m pretty excited about this post today because it gets me really {Really!} excited about the spring weather that the weather man promised is coming to stay! Woohoo!
For me, there’s nothing better than a smoothie on a nice warm day. For this pregnancy, I’ve actually been craving all things fruits & vegetables {which has been awesome} and on the days where the weather hasn’t been too cold, I’ve been making a smoothie or two to calm some sweet cravings!
I love a good smoothie because it’s easy to throw together, keeps me full for a while, calms my sweet tooth and plus Brooks loves to share one with me too! I’ve been struggling a bit getting him to eat fruits and veggies on his own – I think part of the problem is that he only has 5 teeth – but I think this is a great way to get him used to a wide variety of fresh flavors! And hopefully as the weather warms & more teeth come in {which I’m not looking forward to, the whole cutting teeth part} he’ll be more into trying some seasonal eats!
Here’s a look at what’s inside my current favorite smoothie combination:
- 1/2 frozen banana
- blackberries
- raspberries
- 1 cup Stonyfield yogurt
- ice
If I wasn’t sharing with Brooks I’d add in some of my favorite chocolate protein powder. Other things I’d love to add include any additional berries, peanut butter, flax seeds! My fridge is a little empty at the moment, but I love to add in as much as possible to pack a real punch!
I was pretty pumped when I had the opportunity to partner with not only Stonyfield but also Hamilton Beach to test out the new Hamilton Beach Personal Blender – it comes in four colors: blue, red, green & black! I got to try out the blue and I must say, it’s a cute little color and the perfect size for making your very own individual smoothie. Plus it saves on washing extra dishes because you literally just pick the cup off the blender and go.
I have already used this a bunch of times since receiving it last week. I can already tell I’m going to be using it constantly this spring and summer. It’s awesome to just throw everything in the blender, pick up my cup, toss it in the stroller and take the boys for a walk. Doesn’t get any better than that!
The other awesome thing about the Hamilton Beach Personal Blender is that holds up to 14 ounces, which is just shy of two cups, so you get a nice size smoothie if you fill that bad boy up! The cup is also dishwasher safe, another win! I also wanted to let you know that I was a little skeptical at first about the power that this blender because of it’s size – I’ve also been pretty spoiled by my Vitamix
so, I expect a lot from a blender – but it blended all the frozen fruits with ease! It was very quick and pretty quiet too!
Have I sold you on this little blender’s awesomeness yet? Well thanks to my friends at Stonyfield + Hamilton Beach, up for grabs today is your very own Hamilton Beach Personal Blender PLUS Stonyfield coupons to help get your smoothie on!! Woohoo!
