This past weekend we were out celebrating my brothers wedding! It was such a fun weekend filled with so much love and joy {and cuteness, from the most adorable ring bearer ever – duh} that I had to share a little recap with you!
My brother, Michael + his now wife, Joan asked Brooks to be a ring bearer forever ago. I was so excited about this weekend to see my little man in action.
16 months old is a little young to explain the whole walking down the aisle thing too. So I knew that no matter how many times we practiced, you never know what the little guy would actually do day of! Obviously we would just be winging it a bit! Lucky for us the 4 year old flower girl, Sophia, was a big help in keeping Brooks in line!
On Saturday morning my mom + I woke up and went out to get our hair done for the big day. I wasn’t a bridesmaid in the wedding or anything but I was doing a reading at the ceremony, bringing up the gifts and would obviously be in family photos so I was happy to get my hair up and out of my way. I LOVED how it turned out!
It took less than 30 minutes + $50 to make this magic happen { we went to the Paris Salon in Glenside} – Check out the back:
Before long it was time to get ready for all the wedding festivities.
Outfit details: dress / necklace / shoes / lipstick {in Cruella }
We clean up pretty nice, if I do say so myself!
Brooks was a CHAMPION in terms of ring bearer status. He was actually dragging the flower girl down the aisle when it was time to shine and didn’t stop or get distracted by all the people in the church. Charles gave Brooks the pillow, told him to take Sophia’s hand and walk her down the aisle to me and that’s exactly what he did. He walked right down straight to me at the end, and I was ready to scoop him up with a hug. He did great!
Side Note: No we aren’t crazy people trusting a 16 month old with the wedding rings, the best man had the real ones! Ha!
Fun Fact: The pillow Brooks carried down the aisle with the fake rings was actually made from my mom’s wedding dress, which was also used to make Brooks’ Baptism dress! So that was pretty special.
A few I Do’s later + everyone was happy to greet the new Mr. & Mrs.
Everyone sent the Bride + Groom out with some purple + white streamers to celebrate! Brooks wanted to know why he wasn’t given the streamers BEFORE the ceremony, because he thought they were pretty awesome.
After the vows were said we took some family photos in the church. While Brooks + Sophia waited for their turn they played games in the pews and it was pretty much the cutest thing ever. They had a little too much fun!
After lots of photos, it was time to party!
Brooks was obsessed with the dance floor and getting his groove on with Sophia.
And you guessed it – it was the cutest thing ever!
My mom had her special dance with her son
And Brooks got to sneak in a dance with the bride!
But it was a good thing he saved some dancing for his mama too!
It was such a fun weekend – I’m so excited for my brother + my new sister-in-law, Joan as they start their lives together! I’m also so happy Brooks was able to take part in their special day. He was such a little gentleman the entire weekend, I’m so proud of him!
