Slow Cookers are my current obsession. The second the seasons begin to change and the weather cools, I bust out my slow cooker so fast. It’s so amazing to throw everything in the crock pot in the morning and dinner is done. Plus I love the fact that most of my favorite recipes are sneaking in lots of extra vegetables – for myself, Charles AND Brooks. It’s a win/win/win! Last week, as luck would have it. When I went to make this my crock pot died. At first I was sad, but this crock pot had been with me almost 10 years – it had done some WORK! And I totally got my money’s worth of it. So I ordered a brand spankin’ fancy {not really} new one of the same brand {I’m loyal} and was so excited to get slow cookin’ again! Side Note, it was an awesome time to have my crock pot break because I got an awesome deal on a new one! <virtual high five!> Here’s how I make my super simple, tasty and delicious, current favorite crock pot meal -> Split Pea Soup!
Keep an eye on the liquid level as everything heats up – sometimes I add more broth/stock or water as needed to keep the soup soupy! I also like to serve mine with some yummy croutons on top or some crunchy, crusty bread.
Did I mention Brooks loves this meal too? I might be putting this recipe on weekly repeat until we all get sick of it because it’s seriously just Oh! So! Yummy!
And here’s a little fun fashion fix for you – a few of my favorites, on super sale at the moment and a look I’m currently obsessed with. Did I mention the textured sweater is under $20 and the drapey shirt is under $9 and both come in tons of fun colors. I want them all!
