What Matters Most

“I participated in an Ambassador Activation on behalf of Influence Central for WaterWipes. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.”

As a new mom {for the second time} I know how easy it is to get caught up in the “mama drama” and focusing on what everyone else is doing with their kids, and maybe thinking what you are or aren’t doing right & wrong. Its so easy because I feel like after having a baby you are strong and empowered {from going through hell and back again} but also exhausted and scared – you are in charge of a tiny little person now! It’s an adjustment! Part of my new mantra with my second little is to really stop, smell the roses a bit more so they say, and focus on what matters most – both of my beautiful little boys.

It’s easy to get caught up in the comparison game – you want to be the best mom out there to your kids. I get it, it’s only natural. I’m a big believer in  “changing the conversation.” So instead of listening (or not listening) to all of the judgment that is going on out there in the world, I’ve been trying to focus on what’s is right in front me – my littles.

Ever wonder, if your little one could talk, what would they say to you?

Brooks is getting more and more vocal and able to communicate each and every day, but Graham is still in the baby stages and it’s funny to wonder what is going through is head. I do my very best to care for each of them so well and for me, its important to always remember that I am doing the best I can for both my boys. I try to be the best mom for each of them – we have a great love for one another and that’s the most important thing. It’s my job to keep them safe and happy and feeling secure. Even when they are having a tantrum or a screaming fit, I know we’ve each got nothing but love for one another.

This time when they are so young goes by so fast. I still can’t believe Brooks will be 2 next month. Where did the past two years go?! Time is flying by so fast and I’m really trying to focus on being present with both of my boys and embracing their little!

Part of my resolution for the new year is to put down the phone, the iPad, not to worry about the mother and baby groups and the baby yoga classes, and focus on enjoying this special time together. Which is harder than you might think because  I love to have my phone on me to take pictures! But I’m really continuing to work on being present for them, they need me and I need to cherish their little. It’s important to remember that and keep that top of mind, even when life gets a little messy.

What are you focusing on this new year? What currently matters most to you?

WaterWipes asked Moms from around the country, {including me!} to share stories from their messy, crazy, beautiful lives with little ones. Here’s what we had to say, check it out:

As a WaterWipes mom, I want the best for my two little boys – and I love that my favorite wipes are chemical free – in fact, they contain only two ingredients, 99.9% purified water and 0.1% grapefruit seed extract. WaterWipes are durable and effective on their own without any of the harmful ingredients. I used to have major issues with diaper rash when Brooks was little, but since using WaterWipes, we’ve had no problems and Graham has been rash free too! Win!

As a mother, all I can say is enjoy your littles while you can because they sure do grow up way too fast! As a grandmother, that’s what Ii plan to do while I can!
