Ball Canning Jars + Stonyfield Yogurt: A Match Made in Foodie Heaven Giveaway

I, pretty much like everyone else in the world – have been working towards making healthy eating more of a priority in the New Year. With a pregnancy and two littles under two {for a little bit longer} some days are just about survival and eating anything is better than nothing – especially when I have my milk supply to worry about. But since the start of 2016, I’ve been having shakes in the morning for breakfast – more on that in another post – and enjoying lovely yogurt parfaits for lunch whenever I am home. It’s been pretty awesome because come lunch time for me after getting both boys down, I am usually able to sit down with a few minutes to myself around 1:30/2:00 – I am hungry, but not crazy hungry at that point, and don’t want to eat too much and ruin dinner, so a lovely + light parfait has been a great treat.

And plus, when something looks this pretty it makes it so much more fun to enjoy, wouldn’t you agree? I got to try out these new Ball Canning Jars when working on a partnership with Stonyfield and the two just work so perfectly together. It’s like an automatic portion control in a jar, and I am loving the fresh granola crunch, plus it’s a great excuse for me to get some extra fruit in my life, which I can admit I desperately need.

I made these two lovelies for my mom + I to enjoy one day when she came over to help me with the boys. She loved the treat as much as I did – she enjoys a light lunch as well and this was the perfect pick-up after chasing around after Brooks and Graham all morning! Ha!

I can’t wait to continue to add to my yogurt obsession with more fruit as the spring and summer months come around. Because everything more fun with some fresh fruit in your life.

I like making overnight oatmeal concoctions in Ball Jars with chia seeds then adding yogurt and fruit to them in the morning. Just put some quick oatmeal and chia in the jars with some water, put the top on and leave overnight. Then you add the yogurt and fruit and it’s all very creamy and good, doesn’t even have to be hot.

My favorite use of mason jars is making pepper sauce. During the summer, I choose my favorite pepper from the garden ir farmers market and puts as many peppers as possible in a mason jar and add vinegar. I can make milk sauce with bananas peppers or spicy sauce with jalapenos. I use the pepper sauce all year on turnip greens, fried squash, green beans and many other vegetables. I’ve always wanted to make mason jar hanging candles with votive lights. These would be so great for a night time birthday party or wedding. Fruit parfaits are so yum too. I love vanilla yogurt, granola, and peaches. Major jars would be cute for a breakfast brunch or just at home
