Not sure why but after having baby #2, I’m no longer a breakfast person.
Maybe it’s the fact that I don’t have time to make much in the morning, or I don’t feel like cleaning up another mess, even if it’s my own. I used to LOVE cereal – I’d eat it all the time for breakfast or a little snack if I was hungry in the afternoon, but ever since having Graham, I no longer drink milk or like cereal with milk. Weird.
If you want to take me out to breakfast I’m really into eggs, bagel sandwiches, huevos rancheros {if we are getting fancy} but most days I don’t have those things in my house for the most important meal of the day. And when I go through my morning surviving solely on coffee, I end up feeling a little shaky if I don’t have any other calories in my belly, so I’ve become quite fond of my morning shake.
I’ve been getting TONS of use out of my mini Hamilton Beach blender – it’s perfect for a single smoothie and keeps the mess in the blender which I drink out of {and which Brooks constantly steals sips from} but having my smoothie in the morning, now that the weather is getting warmer has been amazing and something I look forward to when I wake up!
As I’ve partnered with Stonyfield as a member of their Clean Plate Club I was lucky enough to get to try out the new Super Skoop All-In-One Nutritional Shake to put in my morning smoothies and I wanted to let you know about them too! Healthy Skoop is USDA Organic, Gluten-Free, Soy-Free, Whey-Free, Dairy-Free, Non-GMO, and is free of the funky stuff!
I’ve been loving putting Healthy Skoop in with my morning shake – doesn’t hurt that its chocolate, yum! A little more about Skoop – It has 20 grams of organic brown rice, pea, and hemp come together to create a complete protein with a complete amino acid profile. Each serving touts the antioxidant equivalent of four cups of organic fruits and veggies, plus Omega-3s from plant sources promote heart health and may help regulate cholesterol. It also has 50% recommended daily intake of vitamins and minerals from whole foods so that your body can actually absorb them! Along with 1 billion probiotic organisms aid digestive health + 1 gram of prebiotic fiber to nourish healthy gut flora.
Here’s one of my current favorite smoothie creations I’ve been loving with my Healthy Skoop.
And as another added perk, having a smoothie in the morning instead of a bowl of cereal has been working in my favorite with bathing suit season upon us! Just saying’
