First Day of School Must-Have’s

littleI don’t think I was really prepared to send Brooks off to school on his first day. No one told me what he really needed, I didn’t really do any back to school shopping, we just sort of came downstairs that first day, met up with Brooks’ entourage and headed out the door.

BUT after two weeks of school for my little – I have a few things that we needed, that I love, that I wanted to share with you!

First up – Labels! I got an email literally the night before school started saying that everything needed to be labeled. Ok, makes sense – but maybe that email should have gone out a week or so in advance? As this is my first time putting Brooks in a school situation. Thank goodness my friend Sabrina got these for me for the boys last Christmas. I had been hanging onto them waiting for the perfect time to use them and this was it!

Next – a backpack! I love this one my parents got for Brooks for Christmas last year. Again, something he didn’t really need at the time, but it’s a great gift that the little can really grow into! Brooks loves his personalized robot one!

A classic favorite  – new shoes. I hadn’t planned on busting out his new converse for the first day, but I literally went to put on his old shoes and he had out grown them overnight! Luckily, I had these stashed away for a rainy day and the first day of school it was! Plus Converse + first days of school go together like peanut butter & jelly! Minus the peanut butter if your school is allergy friendly, like ours is! Ha! school

And a new favorite, and now must-have- a lunchbox! How cute is this personalized lunch box that the lovely folks at Personal Creations sent Brooks. It’s so sweet and something we totally needed! Brooks doesn’t do lunch at school but he defiantly does snack time with his friends – and we needed something to keep his snack together in for school. Brooks seriously LOVES his special lunchbox, and I do too!

Since his school is allergy friendly, like I mentioned above, we keep away from peanut butter, nuts, etc. Usually I send him with a Trader Joe’s bar and some raisins to snack on, but I think I need to step up my snack game!

What do you pack for snack for your toddler?

lunchWe are only 5 days into our first days of pre-school, but those are some of our favorite First Day must-have’s! Do you have anything you think I’m forgetting or need to stock up on?

And again, how cute is this personalized lunch box!? I love that it’s simple and classic! If you want to check out the Personalized Creations pieces, use this link to check out their coupons + sales!

Have a great week!

Squeezy apple sauce (or whatever fruit /veggie combo your little one likes). That’s my little’ FAVORITE item in his lunchbox.

Extra set of clothes? You probably did this, but not as fun as a cool new lunch box!

Great tips – sounds like you have his pre-school days covered. Love the idea of a fruit pouch for a snack too for a change or some small pretzels/crackers bags.
