Sharing Our Holiday Cards

It’s officially holiday card season!

I LOVE holiday cards. I love getting them – it’s so fun when you come home to your mailbox stuffed full of cards from friends, family and loved ones. It’s a great way to catch up with those you haven’t heard from in a while and just a lovely way to let people know you are thinking about them.

And while I do love sending and receiving holiday cards this time of year I must admit, I haven’t sent Holiday Cards out in a few years.

I blame the kids for that.

Sure, they are really cute to take pictures of but last year, Graham was a pretty new little babe and the year before I was still adjusting to being a first time mom, even almost a year into it. So I took a break from the holiday card action and continued to post  cute pictures of my littles on Facebook and Instagram.

I figured that was good enough!

But this year, thanks to my friends at Shutterfly – I’m BACK {in the holiday card game!}

I think the hardest part about getting a good holiday card is the actual taking of the picture – ESPECIALLY when there are kids involved.

my outfit details: open-shoulder dress / OTN boots / Starlet Pearl necklace

My favorite part about the family photo shoot is picking out the outfits! I love the boys to twin, obviously – with a little pop of color from them, and for Charles and I to be more muted, but coordinating.

It’s hard to make it all work but not overdo it at the same time.

And I’m a huge fan of dressing up  more than dressing down – it’s always nice to step up your look for a cute family photo. Especially when you are planning on sending it out to 100 people!

Here’s the final picture we ended up using in our holiday cards. I’m sure we took about 1,000 pictures in the 10 minute time frame we got everyone too cooperate. This was the best one where everyone was looking and most of us were pretty happy about life – and Jackson got in the photo too, so that was an added bonus.

When you are trying to get the kids to look halfway decent, adding a dog to the mix can make it a little extra crazy, but Jackson is a champ like that.

On the back of our holiday cards we put a little message with a crazy picture of the boys running all over the place. I love that I was able to add an extra image to the cards and I’m obsessed with the holly detail too.

It’s so exciting when you finally pick the picture you love, order the card you love and get to mail everything out! Such a fun part of the holiday season and a great way to spread a little extra cheer.

And as a little extra treat, I have a custom mug order for one lucky And Her Little Dog Too reader! Could be a extra little treat for you or a great little gift to add for someone you love!

Leave a comment below letting me know if you love sending holiday cards and your favorite kind of photo to send out!

And thanks to my friends at Shutterfly for my holiday cards this year!

Graham was extra pumped about them!

Every year I tell myself I am not going to send out holiday cards and every year I keep on doing it! I really do enjoy it even though it’s work! My favorite kind of photo to send out is usually of my two sweet little girls.

I have sent out Holiday cards since my children were little ones and now I’m sending out Holiday cards with my two precious grandchildren. It’s the greatest, a little hard to pull off when they are small, but everyone loves getting a photo card. Love Shutterfly and their products too!

Love to send out family cards. My favorite are the more natural goofy ones!
