I Got It From My Mama – a little Mother’s Day Love for MY Mom

I Got it From My Mama.

Is that song going to be stuck in your head all day like it is in mine?
Oh will.i.am.

But seriously, it’s about that time for a little mom love up in here, and today it’s all about my mom {and what I ‘got’ from her!}

Mother’s Day is a whole new thing when you are a mom yourself. Ever since I became a mom, 4+ years ago – I have a whole new appreciation and love for my own mama, who is better known as ‘Gaga’ {officially named by Brooks} around here. She taught me so much growing up but these last 4 years as a mom myself have been a whole new world of wisdom from her. Grateful and blessed to have her around and call her my own.

I am 100% the mom I am today to my two sweet little boys because of my own amazing mother.

She is everything.

My mom is loving, caring, the MOST understanding, the best cook, kind, patient, beautiful, generous and always up for a good time. She is constantly taking care of everyone around her and puts others first every time. My mom took the best care of my brother and I growing up {and she still takes care of me!} now she is helping me with my little boys every chance she gets. She doesn’t sit still {ever} and is always working to make everything + everyone around her better.

Did I mention she never sits still?!

That’s one thing I DIDN’T get from her – I have mastered the art of sitting still when I have a moment. Ha.

I’m so grateful that my parents live close by and I get to share my boys growing up with them. I know my mom loves her twice a week visit over to our house {I love it too!} and her time with her grandsons. She has a unique bond with each of them and I love that Brooks + Graham get to have a special relationship with their Gaga.

I mean, look at all these pics and all the fun we’ve shared over the past 4 years!

My mom shows me every day what it means to be a good person and an amazing mother – and I’m constantly learning from her on a daily basis. There is ALWAYS something more to learn from your mom – you are never too old!

And did I mention she is strong?

So strong.

Strong for herself, for her family, for her kids and now for her two little grandsons – who mean the world to her. I am blessed and honored to be able to learn and love from the best.

Mom, I love you!

Happy Mother’s Day!

In honor of Mother’s Day and while we are talking about strength, I have to give a shout out to each and every mama, mother-to-be, or someone who is hopeful to be a mom soon because, let’s be real – today’s moms are Ultra Strong in everything they do!

Is it just me or should it be changed to Mother’s Week?! We need more than a day to celebrate all the Mom Love out there!

It’s so important to celebrate strong moms, especially the ones who tackle strong messes on a daily basis – Just like Hefty® trash bags!

Seriously, don’t even get me started on all the messes that come with being a mom!

Loved my Mama tribute, of course I cried seeing all those special pics of us and the boys, but what an ingenious way to incorporate strong women and Hefty trash bags. Love you Leslie and Happy Mother’s Day to the BEST daughter and MAMA every day!
