After reading the amazing Kris Carr interview on Oh She Glow’s today, I was super inspired to switch up my juices and use more veggies than fruits. I have been making so many juices with apples and oranges and strawberries, which have been all well and good, but health-wise, obvi the veggies are the better option. So I am going to make more of an effort to juice up the veggies!
Tonight post my workout at the gym, I made a cucumber and carrot smoothie.
It looks kind of freaky, but it tasted quite refreshing. The cucumber gave it a cool taste, I like it a lot!
I love how in the interview Angela asks Kris Carr to discuss the benefits of juicing versus consuming the food in its raw form. You wouldn’t think it would matter because if you eat an apple or juice an apple, it’s still digesting an apple, right? WRONG! Both ways give you the vitamins and minerals, but with juicing your body gets time to chill because it receives the nutrients instantly. It removes the fiber and takes out a part of the digestion process, which gives your body a break to focus on renewal and repair.
Also, you can juice way more veggies than you could eat, so that’s a win!
