Nike Flight Headphones

I used my new Nike Flight Headphones on my 6 mile run yesterday. I don’t know what it was but I did not embrace them. I wanted to like them so much. I wanted to LOVE them. I wanted them to complete my running music/gear collection. But sadly they did not.

I thought they would fit snug around the back of my head. They did not. They didn’t even really fit in my ears right. I am not sure if I am just too used to the ear buds or was expecting something different, but it was not the best experience. They are not like regular headphones that go around your head at all. They float behind your head, and move as you move. It was rather annoying. It was also a windy night, and I felt like they were going to blow off my head, they were that loose on me.

It may take some getting used to, or they just may not work all together. I was really looking forward to them fitting securely around my head. It just wasn’t a great fit. Not sure if it was me, my head, or my ears. I am willing to give them another shot, so I will let you know if the prognosis changes.

Motivated By My Mini

If you use the Nike+ at all, you know it pretty much rocks. At least that’s how I feel. Boyf first got me the Nike+Sportband for my birthday last summer, and I was obsessed with it. I used it all summer. It was amazing being able to look down at my wrist, see my time, pace, miles and calories. It totally pushed me to do more. I would look down, see I was almost at 4 miles, and tell myself to get to 5. It gave me a sense of control over my runs that I wasn’t getting before. Plus, being able to plug it into the computer was amazing. Being able to track my runs over time has been great and I have become a more devoted runner because of it.

This past fall I upgraded my photo ipod to the brand new touch, and with it came the newer Nike+ features. Now everything is tracked right on my ipod touch. I can view my run stats and listen to my music all in one device. Brilliant!

When I got the touch, I also inherited my Nike + Mini. If you are on my page right now, you will notice she is dancing around to the left of this post. She is HARDCORE. Currently she is pumped because I just did a 6 mile run. She is spouting out phrases like “My runometer just blew up” and “I feel like I am on top of the world.” She says stuff like that while jumping hurdles, air boxing, and doing splits in the air. She is currently full of energy. When I go a few days without running, or at least not tracking a run with my ipod, she gets PISSED. She sits there complaining to me that she is bored, and hasn’t run in a while. She gets quite upset when I don’t ‘take her for a run’ I put this feature up on top of my blog so its front and center. In a small way, its how I can be accountable for running. It is embarrassing if she is up there telling the whole blog world I haven’t ran in a while. She sits there playing video games and mocks me! I can’t have that! So I knew when I got home today I had to get my butt out there and give into my Mini’s running needs.

What can I say? She gets me out there running, and in the end, I am ok with that.
