You’re Welcome America: A Final Night with George W. Bush

Did you watch this last night?! If you didn’t you are totally missing out! Boyf and I made a special trip into the city to visit some of his friends, but also to be able to catch this show. I was so pumped when I learned we were going to be able to see it. (I don’t have HBO) It was the live Broadway show which was shown on HBO last night. It was so good. An hour and a half long, pretty much a one man show of Will Ferrell doing what he does best: Making me laugh! I hope you got to see it! If you did see it, what were your thoughts? If you love Bush or hate him, I hope everyone was able to enjoy Ferrell’s show!

Inauguration Day Parade

I got to see the Parade from many different views and levels at the hotel today. Some open air views from the 12th floor, from a window on the 11th floor, and from some others as well. It was nice to be able to see it from up high and down low. I even got to see the snipers on the roofs of different buildings along the parade route. I was right across from the Washington Monument, and I was also able to see a little bit down the road to the Capital. It was really cool to be able to see everything go by, I had a great view. People were lined up for miles and miles, as far as the eye could see. Some were even taking seats on top of the port-o-potties!

MLK Day Events

MLK Day was pretty awesome this year. I got to see some really amazing people, the most famous of which was Martin Luther King III. It was pretty incredible to be able to hear him speak on his dad’s official day. Very inspiring. Some other cool people included Ken Ford, Oprah’s favorite electric violinist. He was amazing. I also got to see the kids from Ron Clark Academy sing “You Can Vote However You Like” and their new ‘hit’ “Dear Obama.” They were really great in person, very cute kids. The last picture is all the people in the lobby. The place was jam packed!
