St. Patty’s Day Eats

This St. Patrick’s Day was a nice one. I do miss the celebrations I used to partake in during the good ol’ College days, but this year it was filled with good food, drinks and family. Since my brother is home from college for spring break, we headed out to a restaurant of his choosing: Sakura Japanese Steakhouse. Yum! This place is definitely a family favorite. We go here all the time.

Usually I have my own meal, but since I have been working to loose a few pounds, and I wasn’t too hungry to begin with, my mom and I split the chicken and shrimp combo. Such a smart move because they give you SOOOOO much food at this place.

Everyone starts out with miso soup and a salad:

Lots of veggies!

Fried rice being made! So sinfully delicious!

Little Shrimpies!!

Chicken, steak, scallops and Japanese spaghetti

My place is jam packed! And remember, this is SPLITTING a regular meal.

I even had leftovers, which I will have for part of my lunch tomorrow. So good!

Green Beer!

As stated in my previous post, I was on a mission today to find green beer.

Before the family went to dinner, we hit up Applebee’s in search of Green Beer. We are Irish after all! It’s the Irish American way!

My dad and I had a Guinness each, bro had a Bailey’s and mom had a pomegranate martini. The martini was obviously not Irish themed, but it came with a green lime on the side so we let it slide.

A celebratory Green Guinness for me:

Irish Joke from the coaster:

What is Irish and left out on the lawn all summer?

PADDY ‘O FURNITURE

Irish Fact from the coaster:

Where was St. Patrick’s Day first celebrated?

1-Dublin
2-Munich
3-Paris
4-Wales
