I was very conscious of my eats this Saturday before the big Broad Street 10-Miler. I was nervous and anxious and excited all day. Pretty much I was just ready to get out there and RUN! Scott @ Solixir was nice enough to send me some samples to test out. Solixir is an all natural sparkling botanical beverage that comes in 3 flavors – Awaken, Restore & Relax. I tested out the Relax on Saturday and it was just lovely. A very subtle taste of blackberry and chamomile. All the Solixir drinks are all natural with no sugar added. I really enjoyed it!
On the way to the Phillies game I had my first ZBar! I had blueberry and it was really good. I have been reading such wonderful things about the ZBars on blogs, people just love them! Now I see why!
I snuck in some Emily’s Desserts into the ballpark today. I like to have a treat or two in my purse at all times. The Coconut Cranberry cookies were divine. I really just can’t get over how fresh the cookies and donuts from Emily’s were. When did I get those? Early last week? Each bite tasted like it just came out of the oven and finished cooling. It was that fresh!
Boyf and I also split some peanuts. I feel like munching on peanuts is a staple snack at a ballpark. I love just snacking on food while I sit there and watch the game. Since I wasn’t able to partake in any of the alcohol fun (due to the early morning race on Sunday) I very much enjoyed my overpriced ballpark peanuts!
For dinner, boyf and I made Whole Wheat and Honey Pizza. I had made this before early in April, and its just SUCH a good meal. Bobbi from N Her Shoes suggested this meal for my pre race dinner eats. Such a good call! I got my good carbs and some veggies in the mix and I loooove this pizza. So good. I had lots of feta, onioins, green peppers, tomato sauce and some pepperioni! A winning combination and perfect fuel for my race tomorrow
