Friday Favorites: Wedges

I love shoes. I think part of this love began in grade school. I went to private school my whole life – grade school, high school, even college – and pretty much grew up in a school uniform. Back then it was obviously the worst thing ever, I hated my uniform and was totally jealous of all the public school kids who could wear whatever they wanted. Looking back it made getting ready for school easier and I’m sure less dramatic – but I do believe this is where my love for shoes really began.  Shoes were really the only thing we got to wear that could show our sense of style – not to say I really had a style sense in grade/high school, but at least we had the option to be stylish!

So today for Friday Favorites I wanted to share with you one of my favorite shoes for the summer – the wedge! I love pairing wedges with cropped jeans, {maxi} dresses and even skirts or shorts {try it to make your legs look super long & fabulous!}. I am a tall gal {standing at 5’7″} so I typically go for the low/medium wedge heights but sometimes it’s fun to crank up the height with a great pair of shoes!

Here are my Friday Favorites this week – Wedges!

Wedge Love

1- A low wedge is a great way to rock a wedge sandal this summer – especially if you are tall or afraid of heights! I love the beach sand color shown above {they also come in black}

2- Obsessed with the gold detail of these cognac wedges {which also come in black}- I would rock these literally every day, with every outfit.

3- A wedge espadrille is so adorable with a great skirt or dress in the summer sun! These come in a fun neon yellow, black & indigo stripe.

4-  I sort of love the narrow wedge of these shoes – from the side they look like heels, but with extra support. They are a great price and I love the cute ankle strap.

5- These tan wedges look comfortable and great for everyday. They look like I could wear them out all day in the city! They come in a cute black & tan combo too – on sale for $29!

6- Love the simple look of these platform wedges — I’m also a sucker for a gold buckle!

7-Simple & easy to wear- I really like the look of these wedges.  They come in a great blue color too!

8- Obsessed with the classic look of these Jack Rodgers Wedge sandal. They come in a really pretty bone/white color too.

9-  I seriously love the saddle color and gold detail of these wedges. They heel height and the price are pretty great too!

Got Wedges

1- These mini-wedge espadrille’s make my heart soar – plus they come in some seriously awesome colors. Is it too late to add them to my birthday list?

2-  While these Rosey Wedge Sandals are a little high for me {99% sure I would fall over and kill myself if I wore them!}, I seriously love the yellow color and detail on the actual wedge.

3- More yellow! Also known as my happy color! And when yellow is color blocked with brown, like they are in this wedge, its a pretty awesome combination!

4- Did you know Sperry made sandals? Me neither! I love the woven straps, stacked cork wedge and the cute striped lining in this mini wedge sandals. They come in black & tan too which are just as awesome!

5-  Really love these low wedge sandals – because of how they look and the amazing price! I personally love gold, but they come in some great colors too.

6- Polka Dot Peep Toe Wedges – Yes, please!

7- Obsessed with the look of these Suede Peep Toe Wedges – they come in Black,  Brown & Pink – I love the shape of these bad boys, really H-O-T!

8- Loving the fun cut-outs of these wedges — these are great to dress up or down with a little detail.

9- Simple & Fabulous describe these classy wedges. They come in black {shown}, tan and a really fun yellow! Perfect for any occasion this Spring/Summer!

What’s your Friday Favorite this week?

In other news I wanted to share with you the fact that my blog friend Charly is in the process of raising $5000 to travel to Nicaragua with buildOn to break ground on a new school there. To fundraise, she has created the virtual event, Sweat On for buildOn. On June 22nd, Charly is asking that people dedicate an hour of sweating to her project.
This is sort of like a virtual 5k but that you can run/do yoga/garden/whatever you consider sweating. Charly has a goal to have 125 people from all over signed up. The entry fee is a $16 donation to my service project. Anyone who signs up and then posts a picture on the FB event page or Instagram/Twitter using the hashtag, #sweatonforbuildon, will be entered into a prize drawing.  For more information or to sign up, check out Charly’s website!
