Maternity Stitch Fix #3

This is my third maternity Stitch Fix {check out my first one here and my second one here} and I have to tell you that I was pretty disappointed by it. I asked for casual, easy pieces I could wear while spending the day with my little guy. What I was sent was more for someone who goes to the office every day. I keep mentioning I’m a stay at home mom in each request but this time I don’t think my stylist heard me. Sort of a major bummer when I have been looking to spruce up my maternity wardrobe. fixin

So without further ado, here’s what I received in my second Maternity Fix –  Check out my pieces and please let me know what you think!

Loveappella Clarkston Cowl Neck Maternity Top {$48}

Clarkston Maternity Top

Ugh. This piece makes me sad because I HATE 3/4 length sleeves. It’s either been too hot or too cold to wear that sleeve length. I enjoy the fuchsia color of this top but other than that it’s sort of meh to me. It also reminds me of a top I was sent in a previous fix that I ended up keeping and honestly haven’t even worn yet.

Loveappella Clarkston Cowl Neck Top

The top is cute on and comfortable but I just don’t really see myself wearing it much. I found a similar top for much cheaper, so if I do change my mind about this guy, I know where to go.

What are your feelings about 3/4 length sleeves?

Loveappella Maternity Gonna Key Hole Detail Maternity Top {$34}

Key Hole Detail Maternity Top

This top I thought was going to be the keeper of the Fix but when I see the pictures of myself in these pieces, sometimes I change my mind. I love the color, I love the back detail, but again, I’m not a fan of the sleeveless top. To be more specific, I don’t enjoy the high neck with the sleeveless.

Loveappella Maternity Top

I don’t think this top does much for me and the black leather detail around the neckline sort of dresses it up a bit and makes it not something I would want to wear out and about getting dirty with Brooks. I’d prefer a fun {maybe flowy?} tank top or something along those lines. Not bad for the price and it was comfortable, but I wasn’t in love.

Renee C Marcy Skirt {$58}

Renee C Skirt

Ugh, this skirt. I honestly didn’t know what to do with it. The aztec, geo print is kinda cool but seriously, when would I ever wear this? I have no need for something like this in my closet right now and I can’t have it taking up precious real estate in there.

Marcy Skirt

I was also pretty confused about the length. Not into the midi AT ALL. This skirt also isn’t maternity so even if it was something I would entertain keeping {which I’m not} I don’t believe it would be something that would be comfortable through the end of my pregnancy.

I even tried wearing it above my bump so the hemline was above my knees but the pencil skirt is just not for me. It looked cute with a solid top, but seriously, when would I wear this? Not into it.

Margaret M Christiana Maternity Geo Print Pencil Skirt {$78}

Geo Print Pencil Skirt

AH! Another dressy skirt? Seriously, I was pretty bummed when I opened up my Fix to find such dressy options when those aren’t things I need in my day to day life. This skirt was at least a maternity skirt, so it stretched, and I did enjoy the subtle geo print, but again, this pencil skirt isn’t for me.

Margaret M Skirt

If you work in an office, this would be a great skirt to get, but that’s just not my life at the moment. It was pretty comfortable in the 5 minutes I had it on, and it would go with a variety of things, but it won’t be staying in my wardrobe.

Street Level Huron Reversible Magnetic Closure Tote {$48}

Huron Closure Tote

This bag is sort of the only thing that made me marginally happy in this fix.

Street Level Tote

I feel like this style bag is really popular right now, I see them everywhere and I enjoy them myself. I LOVE the orange color of this tote, it’s pretty amazing – but I’m not as much of a fan of the purple. And I don’t really like how you can see the opposite color when you are wearing it one way.

It’s a nice size, comes with a attached {orange} wristlet, which I forgot to photograph, sorry and the price is fair – especially  if you like both colors & you are getting 2 bags. I found the same bag in other colors online for the same price. So if you are interested, be sure to check that out because it is a nice bag.

Do you like the orange/purple color combo?

All in all, I was pretty bummed about this Fix. I keep asking for fun, easy, casual pieces for day to day that are in spring/summer colors and patterns and I feel like I haven’t been getting them. Maybe the maternity options are more limited? Who knows. Either way, we will see what happens in my next Fix!

    I got that keyhole top in my first maternity fix as well and since I’m probably a good 5 inches shorter than you it was like a dress and would be a dress post-partum. So disappointing. I see some great maternity pieces on other blogs but feel like my fix was a bit lackluster as well.

    I actually really like the pink and blue tops on you! Agreed, the geo print is meh. And the black skirt is super cute but for a stay at home mom it might not be very useful. Too bad they didn’t hear you when they did your fix!!

    Wow, your stylist really didn’t listen to you this time. I actually love 3/4 length sleeves and I think that top looks really good on you.

    Agreed that this fix was to dressy for a stay at home mom, but I do like the fuchsia color and top on you.
