Block Island Suncare Giveaway

Another day, another giveaway! I’ve had the privilege of working with so many amazing companies this summer and I love being able to share the love with my readers. Today’s review + giveaway is no exception.

Block Island Organics is a suncare focused skin care company – it’s a  a majority women owned family company that started on Block Island, Rhode Island.

I got to try out the new Natural Mineral (zinc only) Sunscreen – SPF 30. What’s cool about this sunscreen is it’s great for adults, kids and babies over 6 months ->  All Block Island products are free of parabens, sulfates, petrochemicals, phthalates, dyes and artificial fragrances.  They also don’t do animal testing and use vegan-based formulas.

I am a massive freak about sunscreen. I lather Brooks up constantly, his little baby skin is so sensitive, I would freak out if I let him get burned. I also keep a hat on his little skin constantly when we are outside – he’s still working on growing some hair, so keeping his head + face covered is essential. I tend to do the same myself – I sunscreen up when I am getting Brooks covered up and I rarely leave the house to hang outside without a hat on my head. I used to be a sun worshiper for a good tan when I was younger, but now I know better!

The Block Island Organics belief is that good skin care is about good suncare as the sun is the leading cause of skin damage and premature aging.  Skin care doesn’t need to be complicated, overly expensive or chemically manufactured – and I wholeheartedly agree!  This stuff is some serious coverage and it’s perfect protection for little one’s skin!

I am such a freak about sunblock. My baby never goes out in full on sun 10-2 and is always covered up with a hat and babiators. Now that she is 6 months I can’t wait to lather her up!
