Dressing for Fall when it Feels like Summer

So Fall is HERE! YAY!

But, its actually going to be 90* here in Philly today. WHAT?!

Crazy that these are the temps we are having at the end of September. The only thing that makes me happy about this is the fact that *maybe* this could mean another mild winter. Which I would definitely be a fan of. I’m hoping that when Fall does arrive, it stays for a while.

Outfit Details:

Keyhole Dress {under $30!} / Denim Jacket {on sale!} / shoes {similar!} /

Sunday BagDelilah Pendant Necklace / Sazzy Z LipSense

So for me, this heat wave and lack of Fall {even though it actually is, in fact – Fall} has me a little confused. I don’t want to dress for summer anymore, I’m over my summer wardrobe. BUT – remember, it’s 90* out. I want to be in skinny jeans and cozy sweaters, but it’s too hot to wear anything but a flowy dress.

And I threw on a jean jacket, because it’s my favorite and because it makes it a little more Fall – even though I didn’t wear it for very long!

This dress I initially planned to wear with boots and a cozy sweater {which I will probably still do!} but it was so hot over the weekend, I had to summer it up a bit. I love the print because it’s light, with a bit of color, but more neutrals – a little pop of pink, blue and some yellow – all mixed together with some black and creme. Perfect for a busy day with the kids!

I am obsessed with layering looks with denim or sweaters, fun vests – it’s pretty much my go-to. So when a awesome print comes around in a great dress, I love for it to be the star of the show, but I always like to have the option to tone it down a bit with some neutral layers, especially ones that most people have as a closet staple.

How are you changing up your Fall wardrobe to go along with this summer heat?

I’d love to know how you are dressing for Fall when it’s feeling like Summer!

Love this dress, the pattern is fun and it looks great with the jean jacket! Colors work well all year for me!
