Back to Reality = No Fun. This was our third trip with boyf’s company to the beautiful wonderland that is Atlantis. It was such a great time. It is ALWAYS a great time. But this year I thought was just phenomenal. We had so much fun. We stayed at The Cove for the 2nd year, which is the newer section to the resort. SO NICE. The view from our room was incredible. We got a great view of the ocean, as well as the pool and private beaches. We got to watch cruise ships leave the harbor as the sun set each night. Very romantical. I miss our room already…the bathroom was unreal, the bed was so comfortable, and we went to sleep each night listening to waves crashing on the shore. Take me back!
The Views don’t get much better than this:
The views from our room:
Ok, this is the last Atlantis Recap, I PROMISE. There are just way too many beautiful pictures not to share! The views, the beach, the food/drink and waterworks were all just such amazing parts of Atlantis. I loved it all.
I want to thank boyf so SO much for taking me for the third year in a row. He is amazing, and I love him very much. The trip was incredible, and I know I had the best time ever.
Here are two pictures from one of our favorite spots at the Atlantis, by the Royal Towers and the Dig. We take a picture here every year. We took one in 2008 but I can’t seem to locate it on my computer. The first picture below is from our first trip, and the second is from this past weekend. 2007 and 2009. Weird to think that so much has happened between then and now, but here we are at that same spot. I just like to think how much closer we are now, and how good things are between us. I look forward to more great times like these.
Love: Then & Now.
I didn’t take too many pictures of what I ate at Atlantis because there was just too much going on. I did manage to take some pictures of the highlights. We hit up Bobby Flay’s Mesa Grill on Friday with 8 other people. It was so good. I love the food there. Nice and spicy! I got the Cornmeal Crusted
Chile Relleno filled with Roasted Eggplant + Manchego Cheesewith Sweet Red Pepper Sauce + Balsamic Vinegar. Yum Yum!
We went to Carmine’s on Saturday night, just the two of us. A little romantical Italian dinner was in order. We saw the menu said family style, but we didn’t think it would be that much, and we were just going to split something anyway. The waitress said the meal served 3-4 but we didn’t think much of that. We got the pasta with sausage and red sauce and boy were they not kidding about the portion size. Plate was HUGE. It could have easily fed more like 6+ people. And just the two of us were sitting at this table with this massive plate of pasta. We dug into it and ate about half, but that was the best we could do.
Like Disney, we also brought with us a bunch of bars. It was a great mid-day snack at the beach! Luna Bars, Eating Right Bars, Cliff Bars, TLC Bars among other things hung out in the beautiful bowl in our room. I loved them all!
We also enjoyed much day drinking on the trip. Afternoons were filled with daiquiri’s and other rum filled drinks on the beach. Nights were a filled with the Bahama’s finest beers, The Sands & Kalik! Double Yum!
The water slides, the lazy river, and the aquarium that surrounds the resort are just a few of my favorite things at Atlantis.
The aquarium, or The Dig, as it is called there, is truly spectacular. It encompasses the entire Royal Towers, and is just filled with so many beautiful sea creatures, I could spend all day just walking around there. There is a predator pool with baby sharks, massive sting rays flying around, and just all sorts of fish close up right in front of your face. The aquarium is open at the top, so the natural sunlight shines down and lights everything up naturally. Its breathtaking.
The water rides are also awesome. I am a wimp and am afraid of the fully enclosed tunnel slides, so I stick to the open aired tube slides, which are just perfect for me. Boyf loves the tunnel one through the shark tank! My favorite part of the water fun is the lazy river, which you could just sit in all day and never get bored. It takes about 35 minutes to go all the way around it, and there are different paths to take, its so fun!
